>Carl: ?CEGLLR 8F CLEG +14 14
>Alec: BEEHOOZ F8 .OZ +34 34
>Carl: ?DILRRS H3 bRIDL.RS +59 73
#note H3 RIdDLERS wins the sim by a little bit (-2) #strategysmall
>Alec: BEEHOOT 4D THEO.BO +24 58
>Carl: BHINTUY 11D BUY +34 107
>Alec: AEEKLNT 12A KALE +34 92
#note 5E ALKIE scores 40 points and doesn't give back easy points on column A. #visionmedium
>Carl: GHILNTW 13B WIGHT +39 146
#note Better than WHANG B10 because it doesn't give back so much.
>Alec: DEGINTT 14A TED +24 116
>Carl: ALMNQRW D4 .RANQ +24 170
#note What kind of magician would find LAM 5C, setting up QI 6B or QUERN F2, or perhaps QUARK/QUIRK A8? Fortunately, my play is still best, but it's very close.
>Alec: EGIINNT 6F IN.IGENT +66 182
>Carl: AEFLMUW 5K WAUL +28 198
#note This was a major inflection point. I remember tanking on this play, going over all the options, which all sim about the same on a 4-ply sim. All of them have drawbacks. WAUL is a race to the S. WAEFUL opens the 3x3 and leaves K5 open. FARM B5 keeps the dreaded UW combo. WARM keeps a much better leave, but is also a race to the S. I shouldn't have spent so long here; all these plays are about the same, and I ended up making mistakes later because Alec rushed me.
>Alec: DENORUV A8 DROU. +30 212
#note I think I saw 4L VOE but didn't fully appreciate it. Not only does it partially block column O, it saves A8 DRUNK for next turn. And it has better equity! ENV is worse than I expected. #tacticsmedium
>Carl: ACEEFJM 3J JEFE +37 235
>Alec: EENPSTV O1 VEEPS +47 259
>Carl: ACMOSUY 7L YA +16 251
#note Way off. The right play here is MURA 5B, setting up the Y. I didn't see it, or anything else for that matter. And no, I didn't pick up on any tells; I'm just a spazz. -17 #visionlarge
>Alec: ?AAFINT 14F ANTIFAs +73 332
#note I missed B2 InFANTA, which scores 2 more points and is easily best. I chose this over ANTIFAt and ANtIFAT because I thought this would be harder to underlap, and also to show off one of the new NWL words. L1 TIFFANY is awesome. #findingmedium
>Carl: CIMOOSU 15F MOO +28 279
>Alec: AAIMOPX 15L OXIM +44 376
#note 5B MOIRA is best, sacrificing 20 points immediately but blocking column B while setting up A6 AX. #tacticssmall
>Carl: CEINOSU M1 CU. +5 284
#note I'm down by too much for this play to be worth it. The play is CURE 5B and hope for a miracle. -16 #strategylarge
>Alec: AAANPTV 5B VA.A +24 400
>Carl: EEINORS B12 ...E +7 291
#note I saw OE right after I hit my clock. Ugh! (-17) #timemanagementmedium
>Alec: ADINPRT N14 P. +8 408
#note Only four possible racks from the unseen tiles yield bingos: EEINRSS, EEIORSS, EENORSS, and EINORSS. PI blocks EEINRSS and EINORSS at N7, but I had not seen that Carl could play 9H ROSERIES or 10H SORENESS. N7 PADRI, RAPT, or RIANT or 9H RITARD blocks all possible bingos. #findingsmall
>Carl: EIINORS 1H IRONI. +27 318
>Alec: ADEINRT 10H .TRAINED +63 471
>Alec: (ESS) +6 477
