#note could do 2f GEM for defense, which I don't hate but there are still a lot of ways to be outscored, I'd have to be pretty confident in outscoring to give up this much for gem. I still don't hate it, but this is very standard
>andre: ANP 2F PAN +16 243
>smylie: BEEMRTY 3C RETEM +33 287
#note interestingly, the pool is actually crazy bad for bingoes! RETEM gives up the most at 4.1%, and BEY gives up 3.2% and BYTE/TREY are about 2.5%. really small chances, and Q really likes BEY given this, to just go for outscoring. I don't mind RETEM cause BY can be decent for scores, but it's also nice to keep EMRT with all the As, Is, and Os, out, it's perfect. The extra vowels make the Y not so useful. BEY looks dangerous cause of the O hook, but the pool is so bad for bingoes that I shouldn't worry too much about it.
>andre: GHIT 8K .IGHT +30 273
>smylie: ABEITVY 4B VET +18 305
#note not a standard play, but I don't hate it. ABIY isn't very good with the pool here. I thought about BEVY, but AEIT is extra bad and risky. I considered VARIETY but that gives back more than this. the pool is still bad for bingoes, but this cuts his bingo% from 9 to 3, and his range is slightly better than random. plays like VAI(N) seem to be decent cause I'm not outrunning consistently, but here I liked being extra defensive since I felt I could outrun. not sure about this
>andre: ABIIKOS J9 A.O +17 290
>smylie: AABEIOY 9N OI +9 314
#note again leaning on the side of extraaaa careful. I could do A(H)OY which actually limits his bingo % more cause of 9s, but do I outrun as consistently? this sets up YE/HOY, and there are no Es out so he can't really use this spot. I was very tempted to play AA/AG/AH on the row two above, setting up YE/VERSTE for a sure outrun, but felt confident enough about outrunning with this line that I was happy to take the extra morsel of defense
