#player2 Johnny_Utah Johnny Utah
>Pamina_Deutsch: DEIKT 8D KITED +30 30
#note I'm really proud of this game. I turned an almost sure loss into a stunning comeback victory.
>Johnny_Utah: AAIMOOU 7E MIAOU +21 21
#note Best play!
>Pamina_Deutsch: AW 6E AW +32 62
#note You know my TOPAZ wasn't going to happen.
>Johnny_Utah: AEHOPTZ D4 ZAP +36 57
#note 2nd best play. AZOTH is a little better.
>Pamina_Deutsch: DEIR 9C RIDE +26 88
>Johnny_Utah: EEHNOTV 10B VET +23 80
#note Close but I need to play VETO in the same spot. I may have had a little doubt on AMIDO. Probably my biggest mistake in the game. -12.
>Pamina_Deutsch: AEINNOT 11D ENATION +72 160
#note This would have played at H9 as well. Best play for Pamina.
>Johnny_Utah: EEHHNOU 10I HUE +17 97
#note Best play.
>Pamina_Deutsch: ACERR 12B CARER +36 196
#note Ok that hurt. An upset is a serious possibility now.
>Johnny_Utah: ?EHINOO B12 .OHO +18 115
#note The moment of truth! I saw 9I OHO for 22, which is the play I make under normal circumstances. However, I am behind by about 100 and I sensed Pamina was keeping well. I go for creating a gigantic line because if I am going to lose I am going to lose anyway by being down 100. Might as well make something happen, right?
>Pamina_Deutsch: EEMORST L4 REMOTES +77 273
#note REMOTES is the normal best play but given my last play and the score, sacrificing 12 points to play 14A THEOREMS and take out the 3x3 could be worth it. Maybe not though.
>Johnny_Utah: ?EIINNS 15A c.NIINES +122 237
#note Best play! I had to talk myself into this since it looks so weird. Pamina held for a very long time and then challenged. My best find of the tournament. Rally cap activated!
>Pamina_Deutsch: ACELNOR - +0 273
#note Unsuccessful challenge.
>Johnny_Utah: EFGOTYY K5 FOY +37 274
#note Did this instead of K1 FOGEY because I didn't like what FOGEY gave back. This seems fine.
>Pamina_Deutsch: ADR M5 RAD +26 299
>Johnny_Utah: ?EFGOTY 13A F.Y +28 302
#note Best given I have a blank.
>Pamina_Deutsch: IQ 14E QI +28 327
>Johnny_Utah: ?ACEGOT 14H ECOTAGe +74 376
#note I think this is best. Forgoing bingoing with AGAMID E4 for 37 is a possibility too.
>Pamina_Deutsch: BLOW 15L BOWL +50 377
>Johnny_Utah: ADGGIRS 13L GAD +30 406
#note AGAMID again is very nice but this take out high scoring overlaps. It does set up a large S lane though if any bingos fit. Small mistake if that.
>Pamina_Deutsch: AB E3 BA +15 392
>Johnny_Utah: GIIJRSX F2 JIG +44 450
#note I wondered about this play since there were no A's O's left in the bag. Some kind of fish holding the S? JIG is best but I misscored the play as 44.
>Pamina_Deutsch: ELLSUUV I5 UL. +3 395
>Johnny_Utah: EILNRSX H1 SILEX +48 498
#note Best play! My play and O12 XI are the only 100% winning plays. M5 RADIX for 40 loses to a few bingos in the O column as does N2 NIXES.
>Pamina_Deutsch: ENPSTUV K9 P.ST +32 427
#note Best play.
>Johnny_Utah: LNR J13 L.R +3 501
#note D6 PAWN for 12. However, I can still play PAWN if I see it the next turn.
>Pamina_Deutsch: ENUV 5A UVE. +7 434
#note Best play.
>Johnny_Utah: N 5K ...N +7 508
#note Second best play. I miss D6 PAWN. -5.
>Johnny_Utah: (N) +2 510
#note Final score recorded as 509-433. One of my best played games of the year. When your top mistakes are leaving an O of VET and making the second best outplay, you're playing a very good game. This gave me a lot of confidence going forward in the tournament.
