>Sid: EEGLNOU 8E EUGENOL +66 66
#note Revisiting some old games.
I was kind of confused when people asked me whether this was a troll move, since it wasn't. I've noticed a lot of people be amazed by random things like Nigel R. keeping a Y on an opening exchange or TABLE on a two tile fish, but I was hooked as soon I saw David open with OEDIPAL 8E in a game a few years ago. I personally find these things way more interesting. I played this to avoid 2LS exposure and to play in the middle of the board to try and get it more closed in the long run, but the 8C placement is intriguing, to limit the S hook, put the O on the star, and G in the 4WS lane. That is a big difference from E on star, E in 4WS lane, and L in 4WS lane, so may be worth doing, and therefore different from OEDIPAL (even though David didn't care too much about O and L in 4WS lanes). Either way, I wouldn't consider the "standard" EUGENOL 8B for the most points.
>Jackson: GIJNPRU E5 JUP. +26 26
>Sid: CFHLMNO J6 MO.CH +26 92
#note I wasn't really sure of MOUCH, I'd do that for immediate defense and the extra points.
>Jackson: AGINRRT 6D R.G +8 34
>Sid: AAFILNS K4 FLAI. +22 114
#note The pressure was already getting to me because this was my first game ever at Board 1- I took something like 6-7 minutes to make this play. I like the idea of FACIA because floaters get represented way more than hooks do on opp bingo %, and it takes out all the floaters when he just fished. But I'm OK with my play too.
>Jackson: ACINNRT H2 INCANT.R +63 97
>Jackson: ACINNRT -- -63 34
#note Just a guess to challenge, I had no idea.
>Sid: AELNSSU 9H LA.S +21 135
#note Thought UNLASHED was an adjective, just missed SENSUAL. This play sucks- lucky that I'm already outdrawing Jackson brutally. I would play UNLASHES for 13 fewer.
>Jackson: ACINNRT 4K .RANC +26 60
>Sid: BEEMNSU O4 .UBES +27 162
>Jackson: IINOSTX M3 T.XI +22 82
>Sid: EFIMNTU C3 MUFTI +27 189
#note At this point I thought I should give up on complete restriction and just let him hit an airball column B bingo for 66 that gives ~45 back. I didn't like FUMET because the overlaps score too many points too often, and also it would create a solitary scoring spot.
>Jackson: BIIKNOS D1 IKON +26 108

>Jackson: BEIIIQS 2A QI +30 138

>Jackson: BEIISTY 11J YETI +30 168
#note phony
>Sid: ?ADEEGL 10B LEAGuED +64 302
#note Yeah my brain shut off here, GLACEED, GLEANED, etc. look fine. Tiles bailed me out immensely.
>Jackson: BEIORST E10 .OB +12 180
>Sid: ?INRSTZ N7 RITZ +37 339
#note This play does knock out some of the higher scoring bingoes and keeps my S (instead of ZEINS).
>Jackson: DEIRSTV 13E STRIVED +73 253
>Sid: ?ADNRSW H12 W.ND +36 375
#note Figured I'd try to bingo again given the crappy pool instead of play WARDS.
>Jackson: AAHOOOR 14J HORA +31 284
>Sid: ?AENRSW 15A ANSWERe. +95 470
