#player2 Darrell_Day Darrell Day
>Kevin_Leeds: DINNOSU 8F UDON +10 10
#note The first day I won 7 and lost 1 to Darrell and this is day 2 and I have won the first game but now I am in the middle of a 5 game winning streak. It goes 13 games this year. There is a prize for the top DG word. I feel bad about losing David Gibson but I won the prize and made an excellent speech. Anyway UNDO sims better for some reason.
>Darrell_Day: FILM 7C FILM +17 17
#note This is a sneaky thing for Darrell to do because he knows I will miss the (FILM)I hook later.
>Kevin_Leeds: EGIINST 9B IGNITES +72 82
#note Darrell acted like he thinks I am much too lucky a player for playing a bingo on a 4 tile draw. I think I kept SIT and in one of my later losses I had nothing better to do but keep SIT about 6 times. I feel like Darrell is pretending to cheat since I did not see him put the blank into the bag and also he pretends to reach down and get the Z and a blank off his lap while I am angrily retorting to his complaint about my luck in drawing. We have a great time when we play. I wish that some day I will win and be State Champion.
>Darrell_Day: EPZ 6B ZEP +43 60
>Kevin_Leeds: AILLV A7 VILLA +33 115
#note For some reason I really wanted to use my V on this play and I didn't see any options except this
>Darrell_Day: AHIY B11 HIYA +25 85
>Kevin_Leeds: AGNORTU 13B .OGURT +22 137
#note Apparently I missed OUTRANG and (A)RGONAUT. All I could think of really was ORANGUTANG
>Darrell_Day: ?EGPRSY J5 GYPStER +78 163
#note I held for two minutes wondering why he would play GYPSIER. Is it actually added to the lexicon?? I finally spotted the slip where the blank was designated and realized it was a different letter than what I'd assumed. After that I only held for another minute.
>Kevin_Leeds: AACEINN 11D CANNIE. +18 155
#note CANNIE hooks nicely but I didn't remember it
>Darrell_Day: ?AELNRU 14G ALEURoN +60 223
>Kevin_Leeds: ABEHQRT 15G BATHER +58 213
#note misscored as 53 and hence my final score is recorded as 358.
>Darrell_Day: AJRS N11 JARS +36 259
#note This is just ordinary bad luck for me, the opposite to the luck I was having on the first day
>Kevin_Leeds: DEIOQTW K4 QI +28 241
#note I hated risking an easy I comeback but I wanted to keep the OW for the 8x hot spot. Quackle disagrees and says I should have settled for 4x and wait for a better Q play with QIDT. What I failed to realize is that both the blanks gone and board fairly closed means I should stop thinking about bingos so much.
>Darrell_Day: DEET L5 TEED +11 270
#note I guess the reason for this would be a surfeit of Es
>Kevin_Leeds: DEINOW O8 ENDOW +57 298
>Darrell_Day: ABMOO M7 MOO +19 289
>Kevin_Leeds: CFIKTVW 6G TIV. +10 308
#note Unsure of exact rack. Here VICT(OR) or VI(DE) with (FILM)I are recommended, but I didn't spot those. I figured the V is worth getting rid of
>Darrell_Day: AB A14 BA +16 305
>Kevin_Leeds: CDFIOOW M12 WO. +25 333
#note It was painful not to be able to place WOOF anywhere. I am not planning very well for the endgame.
>Darrell_Day: EESX N5 EXES +37 342
>Kevin_Leeds: CDFIKOU O3 KIF +16 349
#note Since the tournament ended I agonized a few times about not playing KUFI here. I was just slightly too unfamiliar with the word KUFI and also not quick enough to realize how great a play it was and how necessary. Panic time! Next year, remember to drink more water, and not overdo the coffee. And also I wish I had been smart and spotted great plays like COD(EXES) and UDO hooking D(EXES) and also OK(EXES).
>Darrell_Day: AAEORT 3L TEA. +16 358
>Kevin_Leeds: CDOU B4 CO. +14 363
>Darrell_Day: AOR 5E ORA +8 366
#note One time Darrell played ORA and had it challenged off because it was in the time before word lists! It will really take me a lot of effort and luck to ever defeat Darrell for the State Championship. Darrell is like Mount Rushmore with a gooey marshmallow center.
