#note Dells Spells Southern Edition (WGPO) 2019 Game 2 vs. Mark Kenas.
>Bill: ABLNOOX 9H NOX +23 23
#note I figured, between this and AXON, the advantages of NOX are (1) makes the TWS harder to hit, (2) doesn't give the CAXON/TAXON hooks or the A for eights, and (3) the A helps the leave slightly. The only real advantage of AXON seems to be blocking S ending sevens (that don't contain a C or T), so NOX seems pretty clear. However, I didn't consider LANX, which does really well on defense and scores 32. That might be the play, despite the spooky leave. Finally, another good idea surfaces on sim: BOON setting up 50+ for the X. That probably doesn't stay open, but maybe I still get a good score for it. Definitely a more interesting play than I gave it credit for at the time.

#note Missed DEIF for 10 more.

#note Very meh play. I missed 8A PICENE for 33, which I don't really like because it blocks the one good sevens lane and blows up the rack keeping just the F with the blank, so even giving me tiles to play through I'm probably not a favorite to bingo next turn. However, I didn't even look at 8J EF. Why not? Good balance, sets up another sevens lane and prevents him from hitting the triple. Pretty clearly best, I'd say, and I didn't consider it.

#note I thought about PECK instead, but G's really suck and at least I can't draw another P. Don't want to do D7 PEG because I want to keep that sevens lane even with all the good letters to play through on the right side. Didn't see 11D GAED which is probably best.

#note I actually did not know TRIPPLED.

>Bill: IORSTVY N6 VI.O +22 276
#note GROVY looks best, didn't see it/might not have been sure of it.
>Mark: ?ACLOOR 5B CO.pORAL +68 276
#note Only bingo.
>Bill: AERSTWY 4F WAY +29 305
#note AWGEEZ should be acceptable when playing in the Midwest. I did not see WHY, which is best in valuation, scoring 4 less and keeping AERST over ERST. However, I did like the idea that I set up a lane for bingos starting with R while holding one and with only one more unseen.

>Bill: DEMRSTU 7J MU +18 323
>Mark: AILRTTY 3H RATTILY +78 390
#note Shoot, him hitting the R bingo was not part of the plan.
>Bill: ADERSTU L1 DU. +6 329
#note I probably need to score more than this, but I also really need to set up a second lane that he can't just automatically score a ton on. Tough spot. Giving up my T for 8 more points is also not worth it.
>Mark: AE 2N AE +14 404

#note There is a bingo available here. Answer next turn.

>Bill: AEIRSTV 4L TASE +29 372
#note A(G)RESTIA(L) last turn. Mark does still win every endgame even if I know that and play it. I saw GASSED but did not consider that it might be his only out, so this is minus a lot.
