Player 1
#player1 Johnny_Utah Johnny Utah
#player2 Howard_Pistol Howard Pistol
>Johnny_Utah: AEEIOQR 8G QI +22 22
#note Games from the 2019 Lake George tournament. Best play.
>Howard_Pistol: ANV H6 VA.N +7 7
>Johnny_Utah: AEELOOR -AEOO +0 22
#note This was a hard position. VOE is is the best on static equity but my play jumps to near the top around 9H NOO. NOO seems too agressive with my vowel heavy leave which easily could collapse into a vowelly mush. I still like my play.
>Howard_Pistol: ADEINSS 6G A.IDNESS +68 75
#note This was an omen of how the whole tournament would go. :(
>Johnny_Utah: ?CEELNR M1 CLEaN.ER +70 92
#note There are no options that more than 70. I picked one that opened two spots, one for me and for Howard. I also underscored this as 68.
>Howard_Pistol: UZ 1M .UZ +42 117
>Johnny_Utah: AAAAOOW -AAAAOOW +0 92
#note Best play! This was not supposed to happen...
>Howard_Pistol: IIOT 8K TO.II +18 135
>Johnny_Utah: EEFGHMY L3 MY +26 118
#note Plays like HYMEN K2 and THYME at K8 clear the rack better than my play and also score 26. Not a big mistake though.
>Howard_Pistol: FIR 5E RIF +17 152
#note Howard scored this as 16.
>Johnny_Utah: EEEFGHJ 6B JEFE +32 150
#note Best play!
>Howard_Pistol: EEILSST D6 .ELSITES +74 226
#note Best play! C9 SETLINES and STEELIES were available if I chose to do JEFE in column 4. My JEFE worked out best.
>Johnny_Utah: ?DEGHNR 11D .HRoNGED +98 248
#note Best play! One of the most satisfying moves of a bad tournament.
>Howard_Pistol: AMR 10J MAR +24 250
>Johnny_Utah: ABHIOPV 4A PHOBIA +37 285
#note Best play. This took me a long time to find but I'm glad I spent the time.
>Howard_Pistol: BRU A1 BUR. +24 274
>Johnny_Utah: ALOOVWY 8A WOO.Y +33 318
#note Best play! Also spent a while between this and 12J WOOLY.
>Howard_Pistol: EE O1 .EE +12 286
>Johnny_Utah: AIKLOTV 12J LOVAT +25 343
#note Interesting position. Ordinarily M10 KIVA is the obvious play. However, Howard just fished so I am not giving Howard another floater to bingo through. The question is, do you try and obscure the S line or block at row 9? I went for obscuring the S and scoring. 9A OIKS is also a possibility too. One of the more challenging positions of the game.
>Howard_Pistol: DEILOTU 13A OUT.LIDE +72 358
#note Horrible! I blocked SOLITUDE the turn before and let Howard get away with this. I even wrote this turn down with the nomenclature I use when I'm challenging a play off but then talked myself into allowing this because it gave me a 39 point response. Easily the biggest mistake of the game!
>Johnny_Utah: GIKNOPT A12 K.TO +39 382
#note Best play. 39 points and a fairly bingo prone leave is why I allowed OUTSLIDE*.
>Howard_Pistol: ANW 3C NAW +27 385
>Johnny_Utah: DGGINPT I5 P.G +13 395
#note Not the draw I was expecting. My play has the best equity and ranks in the top 10 choices according to Championship player. Championship player spits out DAG as a winner which I can't figure out. I have no O, and I am blocking row 14 which in theory I could bingo on. What's more bizarre is DAG is 91.67% to win. That can't be right.
>Howard_Pistol: AAAEOUX 9A OXE. +29 414
#note Best play for Howard. At this point I thought I might have blown the game by allowing OUTSLIDE* but then I checked my tracking to see Howard had utter garbage. I just needed to find a winning play...
>Johnny_Utah: CDGINRT M10 TR.GIC +24 419
#note ...And I found the winning play! Apparently this and M10 CRAG are the only winning plays with this being the best by a few points.
>Howard_Pistol: AAAU H13 .AU +9 423
#note Best play for Howard as this blocks END for me.
>Johnny_Utah: DN 14H .ND +8 427
#note Best along with 14L DIN.
>Johnny_Utah: (AA) +4 431
#note Final score recorded as 429-423. Great job other than allowing OUTSLIDE* although I had some bad luck which would be a bad omen for future games.
