>cesar: AEFRRSY 8D FERRY +30 30
#note i thought i had a decent chance of getting away with FRAYERS* here but decided not to chance it. i considered FRY for a little while but liked points more. i keep forgetting about defense. it's a thing, cesar. -7 #strategymedium
>jacks: ADEEGIM F8 .EIMAGED +66 66
#note although g8 opens up more hotspots, it felt like he could often take them and leave not much for me, so the whole one for you one for me thing would just favour him. Q likes this placement by 3-4
>cesar: AAENRSU 11E A.U +10 40
#note i don't like fishing if i can avoid it anymore. it didn't seem like anything was worth blowing up the rack for here, but D8 FAUNA seems decent.
>jacks: BIILLNP 7B BLIP +18 84
#note he flashed an S on his FERRY turn, and with his generally strong AMU range, I like being defensive here. I really was about to play BILLI(E) but then just thought badly of it, it isn't as good for me when he does bingo. although that's true, it just lowers his bingo% and scores by too much, I really shoulda played that. BLIP is to be able to counter his bingo better. not really sure why I decided to do this, it doesn't make a lot of sense. it sims second, about 5-6 below BILLIE with AELRS implied
>cesar: AEELNRS 13F .ENERALS +72 112
>jacks: ?IIKLNX H13 .IX +30 114
#note like partially blocking the D, especially cause I want to draw LINKED next turn
>cesar: EHNSUVY K11 HE.VY +28 140
#note wow, i don't think i knew UNSHED. SHELVY is also pretty good. -3.5 #knowledgemedium
>jacks: ?AIKLNO 6D KAOLINs +77 191
#note I thought about KAOL(I)NIc at 10b which does block the B, but it also leaves the RY open and the 6 row, it felt like this was pretty defensive and would do better in closing things long term. the B column will get naturally closed by 15 row plays
>cesar: INNORSU 15K .OURN +27 167
>jacks: ADDNOTZ E5 T...D +19 210
#note I could do 8a ZA here, that's v reasonable. It's hard to explain why this felt better, something about DDNOT being especially bad on this board for scoring, ADNOZ has more potential for hitting Z plays and leaving me with good tiles, or hitting 15a plays. this sims at the top, about tied with ZA.
>cesar: ?IJNNOS 8A JO +31 198
#note i'm pretty sure i passed up eNJOINS here, i remember seeing it and immediately ignoring it without counting it. i may have been wrong. also, J10 JO is better than my JO as it sets up an S-ending lane! -4 #strategymedium
>jacks: ADNOOOZ J9 AZO +37 247
>cesar: ?CINNOS L5 CONIiNS +65 263
>cesar: ?CINNOS -- -65 198
#note oh god, what an awful mistake. i really thought this was a word. i laid it down for a while trying to think of something better and didn't see nuncios. #knowledgelarge
>jacks: DNOOOSW L11 OW. +28 275
>cesar: ?CINNOS 10L COIN +17 215
#note js: COIN at 7H is kinda sneaky cd: this is it, i finally lose. gg man. i should see 7H COIN, which is clearly much better, but i was starting to have tunnel vision. -11.5 #findinglarge
>jacks: DGINOOS O8 DI.GO +24 299
#note yeah that's the game. I saw SNOODING but thought it was phony. fuck. I considered GO(N)OID* which is no good, but I didn't see GONION. I prob woulda done that cause the G is more defensive. DINGO sims best tho, bingoes more and scores quite a bit more on average.
>cesar: ?HLNSTW H4 WH.N. +18 233
#note i wanted to open even a crappy lane so this board doesn't fully shut down on me. -8, 12D WHAT sims better, maybe i'll get lucky. idk, hard to know how bad my move is really. #strategymedium
>jacks: BEFMNOS I11 BE.F +23 322
#note I saw ENWOMBS but not BOWSMEN, either way I think it's a pretty good play cause MNOS can get ugly with consonant draws, at least F is unlikely to run into such shit. although there is UUVQ to draw. I don't mind BEEF, it just has some downside.
>cesar: ?AEILST M5 hALIT.SE. +76 309
#note js: awesome find cd: sokay
>jacks: IMNOPST N4 POM +24 346
#note I was worried about drawing the Q here, I didn't see OPTIMA but that's my only worry with it. I felt like maybe I should have kept the M or P for scoring plays, with POM i'm opening the O1 spot to counter the 15a spot, but with INST I don't hit 15a very well. TOM is probably fine.
>cesar: AAEQUUV O1 AQUAE +52 361
#note quackle likes me playing UVEA instead. QUA can score a ton in various places next turn! -2.5 #tacticssmall
>jacks: IINSSTT L3 ITS +9 355
#note Q comes up with NITS and ITS as the top two choices, which are the only plays I really considered. It prefers NITS though.
>cesar: CDEGRUV 2G CURVED +25 386
#note of course better than taking the pts at 15A.
>jacks: EEINSTT 15A TINTE. +24 379
>cesar: AGRT B7 ..GART +11 397
#note chickened out on 1K TARG(A) but no reason to try that if i have a win, only if it was my only play. -5 #knowledgemedium
>cesar: (ES) +4 401
#note i got so freaking lucky this game despite making a number of bad plays.
