#player2 Darin_True Darin True
>Jack_Overby: ACDEERY 8B DECAYER +82 82
#note Almost played CEDARY, but plunked this down before I had enough time to doubt it. It's good (duh).
>Darin_True: ABEENOZ D8 .ABEZONE +94 94
#note Awesome comeback!
>Jack_Overby: EGHILUX E10 EX +40 122
#note Spent a while on this turn, as I struggled to generate options. A number of plays are better: LUXE, AXILE, EXILE, HUGE... this is mediocre.
>Darin_True: BJ 13C J.B +24 118
>Jack_Overby: GHIILRU 15C R.GULI +21 143
#note Clearly best.
>Darin_True: ?IIOORU -IIOOU +0 118
>Jack_Overby: HIIMOUV B6 OI.IUM +13 156
#note I also considered OVUM in a few places and 14D NIM 27. I played this to unload junk and give myself a decent chance at a 5-letter A11 play starting with H. Once again, this sucks. Looks like NIM, VIBE, VIM, MHO or HUMID would have been better choices- i.e. anything but mine.
>Darin_True: ?ALMOOR A1 LORdOMA +80 198
#note Darin considered this and 14H OSMOLAR 80.
>Jack_Overby: ADHSTUV 14B VA. +22 178
#note Another ugly rack with a variety of middling options. I need to work on generating choices in these types of situations. I also considered C3 THUD 222 and A11 HADST 37. All moves are fairly close, but this looks best, along with G5 DUVET 14 (which I hadn't spotted).
>Darin_True: AEPV 7G PAVE +25 223
#note Interesting play... quite bold.
>Jack_Overby: DHSSTUW 6J WUD +28 206
#note More ugly racks! Equity botlike, but sims best.
>Darin_True: AIINRST L6 .ISTRAIN +70 293
#note Not looking good. Only 13% to win at this point...
>Jack_Overby: EHOSSTU 12H HOUS.EST +66 272
#note At least it gave me this. Up to 28% now.
>Darin_True: FKOY 10J FO.KY +31 324
>Jack_Overby: AFIIRTT 8L .IFT +21 293
#note The word "DISTRAINT" flashed into my head, but I thought I was confusing it with the equally strange DISTRAIT/E. Wrong. It's a word! Had I known it, I'd've done 14J FIT for 3 more points. Still, I liked opening another lane given my deficit. This sims roughly 1st, tied with other similar plays.
>Darin_True: AEGLLT C2 GELLAT. +27 351
>Darin_True: AEGLLT -- -27 324
#note Not sure of Darin's other tile. Big break here; if he plays C1 GALLET 19 or C3 GELATE 25, it's a whole nuther ballgame. I guess he amalgamated GELATE and FELLATE in his mind.
>Jack_Overby: ?AEIIRT 1A .AIRIEsT +74 367
#note See, I know some "new" words! Well, new when you haven't played regularly since 2014. My mind is at least 2 dictionary updates behind.

I chose this over LITERATI for defensive purposes...
>Darin_True: AEGLLTT 14H AGLET +20 344
#note There's that not-so-imaginary hook.
>Jack_Overby: DEHIOOR 2F HOODIER +87 454
#note For the second game in a row, I draw into a HOODIE_ bingo that overlaps perfectly onto a blank bingo I'd played with the intention of reducing my opponent's bingo chances. Guess it was my day, eh?

I am the hoodiest man alive; ain't nobody hoodier than I. If you doubt me, just check out my hoodies.
>Darin_True: AEGLNQS - +0 344
#note Understandable desperation challenge; if it's good, game's over.
>Jack_Overby: CDENPTW 3K WEPT +25 479
#note Pretty terrible play for spread, but any valid play wins here. Given the pool, no bingos are available (not even GANNELS*, which I invented at the time). Of the many better plays, 9D APED 35 is the flashiest!
>Darin_True: AEGLNQS J1 Q.S +22 366
#note 1 point behind the best play, which Darin *could* have played on his next turn...
>Jack_Overby: CDNNN L1 C..D +20 499
#note I saw, but chickened out on 10B UNBEND 11, which is tied for best play, but for a reason neither Darin nor I managed to spot...
>Darin_True: AEGLN 5G GLEAN +22 388
#note Second best, behind... 11G GALENA 33! Quite the nice fit. UNBEND would have blocked this!
>Darin_True: (NNN) +6 394
#note Things looked bleak after DISTRAIN, but a timely blank draw + phony by Darin + miracle HOODIER draw + challenge by Darin was a wondrously fortuitous sequence that gave me the game. I'll take it!

Still gotta work on my endgames... and preendgames... and everything else. Other than that, though, I'm pretty much Nigel (and how was the play, Ms. Lincoln?).
