#player2 Matthew_Larocque Matthew Larocque
>Max_Dwyer: IIUUUU -IIUUUU +0 0
>Matthew_Larocque: BFIINSY 8G FIB +16 16
>Max_Dwyer: ADOT 9F DATO +20 20
>Matthew_Larocque: AIJNSSY 10E JAYS +33 49
#note I set this down, then took the J off. Then put it back since he now knows I have it anyways. In hindsight, he'll score a similar amount hooking AYS compared to simply playing off the J - but I score 8 more by adding the J. An extensive simulation agrees.
>Max_Dwyer: ANTY E10 .ANTY +30 50
>Matthew_Larocque: EIINRSW 13C WI. +12 61
>Max_Dwyer: CPR 11C CR.P +14 64
>Matthew_Larocque: AEIMNRS J2 MARINES +76 137
>Max_Dwyer: INOV 7D VINO +19 83
>Matthew_Larocque: UUUU -UUUU +0 137
#note I didn't write it down, but I had to have exchanged early in the game. Either here or after JAYS.
>Max_Dwyer: ??EIKNT 5D aKINET.c +90 173
>Matthew_Larocque: DFGGIST H1 FIDG. +36 173
#note FIGGED if I had known it. I also saw that I could have added the T as soon as it was too late.
>Max_Dwyer: EEQUU 3C QUEUE. +34 207
>Matthew_Larocque: EEGLRST 3J .G +3 176
#note I've never seen REGLETS before, as hard as that is to believe. I'm also playing like I'm behind by a bingo when I'm not. EELRST is decent but maybe not nearly enough to justify this. It doesn't bingo with another E, and SOLERET won't play. LEG instead?
>Max_Dwyer: ACGR L1 CRAG +24 231
>Matthew_Larocque: EEELRST 13C ...E +7 183
#note At least F14 EL or F13 EEL begin the process of getting to the other half of the board. I'm acting like CRAP is unblockable.
>Max_Dwyer: OX 2E OX +52 283
>Matthew_Larocque: EELLRST B5 TELLERS +70 253
>Max_Dwyer: DDEENT A1 TENDED +35 318
#note The bingo did nothing but make up for the turns where I scored nothing fishing.
>Matthew_Larocque: EHLMOPZ 1L .HEZ +54 307
#note One of the only things drawable here to make this a close game.
>Max_Dwyer: UU 8A U.U +9 327
>Matthew_Larocque: ALMOOPV 2N MA +27 334
>Max_Dwyer: EST 3J ...TES +31 358
>Matthew_Larocque: LOOOOPV -LOOOV +0 334
#note After MA I know that I drew a third O, and possibly a fourth? It was a pretty obvious exchange rack. I decided my best shot was to hope he ended up with it instead of me. The P is useful, and I kept one O because it plays in several spots that might be important.
>Max_Dwyer: AW B1 AW +22 380
>Matthew_Larocque: ABEHIOP 9A P.H +25 359
#note I realized after I could have played these one at a time.
>Max_Dwyer: NO 6E ON +16 396
>Matthew_Larocque: ABEIORV D2 B.R. +22 381
#note It'll leave me vowel heavy, but who would have thought it was possible to score 22 points with the letters remaining on the board we are now faced with? How can I say no? And he won't get 11 points for QI. I guess I'm supposed to lose this game, so Quackle isn't that helpful here. I need to catch a break.
>Max_Dwyer: AIILOOR 12D A. +10 406
#note When I saw his final rack, I realized that the only thing stopping me from setting up my V is him having OVA/AVO. My plan was to try and delay until he uses up the A, then play VIE 14A. I caught a break - a massive one.
>Matthew_Larocque: AEILOOV 14A VIE +17 398
#note The only winning play according to champ.
>Max_Dwyer: IILOOR M3 .ORII +9 415
>Matthew_Larocque: ALOO K5 .OL +6 404
#note I have to play this or 6L OIL to prevent him from going out. Even if tracking were to be a non-factor in the 30 other games, it would be worth it just to change the result of one game.
>Max_Dwyer: LO 1G O. +5 420
>Matthew_Larocque: AO A13 O.A +18 422
>Matthew_Larocque: (L) +2 424
#note We recounted, he ended up losing one more point on misscoring VINO. I was in disbelief that I had won the game, one of the biggest flukes in my tournament career. I'll remember this game the most.

Max had been 2-4 for the day entering this game, so I felt a little bad that this was how the day ended for him. Sorry dude, but I know that you're a way better player than what your rating showed!
