#note I have a long history of not looking for double-double non-bingos. When I first started playing, it took me years to internalize that there is essentially a Quadruple Word Score hotspot and it's more lucrative than a TWS. So that's why I missed the best play here, PLE(A)TER for 36. Quackle's runner-up is VET for 17 keeping ELPR, which is counterintuitive to me, as I truly think it's better to play off the four letters I did for 20 points and keep ELT. Quackle prefers P(A)REV to V(A)PER, undoubtedly because it doesn't take an S and because I hold the -E hook. I only knew PAREVE as a six.
>Dean_Saldanha: EEKO 7D E.OKE +37 65
#note A clever fit, the sort of thing a 1900 player sees.
>Mina: EGLRTTY 6H TRYG +19 39
#note Oops. Top choices here included C3 TYLER for 32, 10C GL(E)Y for 16, or 6H TYG for 14. But I got away with a phony that cleaned up my rack and kept my E, so hey.
>Dean_Saldanha: AZ F6 Z..A +37 102
#note Again the sort of non-obvious "nice fit" play I want to learn to see.
>Mina: EELNNOT 10E .EN +21 60
#note One of the top-simming plays. I disagree with Quackle's preference for 10D N(E)E because I'm so far behind that I need to open lanes, and (E)EN does that better.
>Dean_Saldanha: CENO K3 CON.E +16 118
>Mina: EELNOTU L7 TOLUENE +68 128
#note Correct. Easily the better of the two possible bingo placements.
>Dean_Saldanha: INQ 3K .INQ +30 148
>Mina: ?AEIRST O3 SATIREs +87 215
#note Lucky draw! But in retrospect with the X unseen, I shouldn't have placed the I next to the TLS!!!! When you see a bingo, look for a better bingo, Mina.
>Dean_Saldanha: ADEOVW N9 AVOWED +43 191
>Mina: BEMORUX C1 BUXOMER +102 317
>Mina: AILOSTT (challenge) +5 322
#note Thankfully I drew the X. Better to be lucky than good?!
>Dean_Saldanha: IJ 1A JI. +36 227
>Mina: AILOSTT 13E TOTALIS. +60 382
#note My fourth bingo in four turns. What a way to start Nationals.
>Dean_Saldanha: LPY H12 P.LY +36 263
>Mina: ABDEIMW O13 WAB +32 414
#note Oh jeez. Best play was O11 BEDIM 49 or O11 BEMAD 50, nice words I didn't know; BEDIM even played at 14B.
>Dean_Saldanha: ?HIORST 4B H.RnITOS +72 335
>Mina: DDDEIIM 14D DID +18 432
#note Missed 14B DIDIE, the best play; 14B MEDII places second, 14D DIM places third, oops.
>Dean_Saldanha: FR 2B F.R +22 357
>Mina: ADEGIMN K11 MI. +20 452
#note Didn't see 15A GAMINE. I wanted to play a five-letter word at 15A but I wasn't sure on TID. So with three tiles left, I played off two. In retrospect, I don't know why I left one in the bag, since there are no bingo lanes. It's just such gospel to leave one.
>Dean_Saldanha: AAL 15D ALA +15 372
>Mina: ACDEGNU L1 CA.D +26 478
#note Championship Player likes 3F GUDE, presumably setting up CAN(DID) as one of the outplays, which is very nice. With the CAID that I played, I can't remember where else I planned to go out with GENU if he'd blocked my spot. Safer to go out with four tiles and then three as opposed to the reverse.
