#player1 Alec Alec Sjoholm
#player2 Will Will Anderson
>Alec: ABHIILS 8D BIALI +20 20
#note 8G HI is apparently best, sacrificing ten points for a leave that's only four points better. Sure, Quackle. #strategysmall
>Will: EEIJLOO F6 JI.O +27 27
>Alec: ABHMRST E7 B.MAH +32 52
#note MIHRAB. #findingsmall
>Will: EEELOTT D8 .ETEL +26 53
>Alec: AKOPRST C11 PAK +28 80
>Will: ADEEOQT -QOE +0 53
#note Figured this would be a controversial move, but while I accept it's a mistake and I certainly got burned to the maximum possible extent, I had logic behind it, as I expressed on the stream; if Alec didn't have a bingo, I expected he might be more apt to open something than the Gibsons of the world. #strategylarge
>Alec: EGORSST H4 GORS.EST +61 141
#note W: Of course, he has nothing after QAT. Tough break...but avoidable.
>Will: ADELOST 11H .OADLETS +68 121
#note SOLATED and TOADLETS yield roughly the same opponent scores (and Alec's rack is as random as Quackle thinks it is), but I average 6 more points per turn after TOADLETS than SOLATED.
>Alec: DIIQTUX O11 .QUID +75 216
#note If Will had played SOLATED, I would have had 15D DIXIT, underlapping for 69!
>Will: AAEFMOR B13 OAF +18 139
#note I suppose FOAM is simply too many points not to play, but I was really unhappy with its effects on the board...I suppose the D of SQUID is very difficult to block without sacrificing a lot of points after I play FOAM. #strategylarge
>Alec: ?EINNTX N14 XI +39 255
#note 15A isn't lucrative enough to be worth blocking. This is best, scoring the most of any play that doesn't use the blank.
>Will: AEGMORT 4B MORTGA.E +74 213
#note A: MORTGAGEE is a word I didn't know. Fortunately, it wasn't a factor this game.
>Alec: ?AENNTZ 10J ZA +65 320
>Will: DINSWYY 3I WINDY +41 254
>Alec: ?ENNORT 15B .RONTmEN +83 403
#note I wasn't certain that FRONTmEN was good (it is), but I found it quickly, which gave me confidence to play it.
>Will: CENRSWY A8 SCREWY +64 318
>Alec: ACEGINO 2E COINAGE +81 484
#note Luck box.
>Will: EFLNORU M6 FLUOR.NE +76 394
>Alec: ADERUVV 14G ERUV +20 504
#note ERUV scores well, unloads two of UVV, and blocks the easiest lane on the board, row 13. Naturally, Quackle hates it. There is something to be said for Quackle's picks, B2 VUM and K1 VENDU, namely that they both save a scoring play at 1K (DRAVE and VARVE respectively). Honorable mention goes to G13 VUm, which scores only 9 points but blocks row 13 while saving 1K DRAVE. #tacticsmedium
>Will: ?EEHIPU 1K sHEEP +41 435
#note PUREE/PIQUE at 1K are 6 better. #endgamemedium
>Alec: ADINTV C1 DIV.T +18 522
#note L5 VIAND is a difficult find, but I should have seen 8K VAUNT at least. #endgamemedium (-10)
>Will: IU L3 .UI +8 443
#note Went too far outside the box on a couple moves here and paid the price. Congrats to Alec on a great performance.
>Will: (AN) +4 447
