#note everything here looked lame. i had a feeling something like J6 CA(r)RY is best equity-wise but it seems so low win %. in the end, -AOQY sims best by win %, by a little bit. It's funny - this move took me more than 5 minutes to make. i was slightly steaming because i felt like i had drawn every Q in this tournament, lol, and because Thomas mentioned he just wanted a game where he scored some points, as he'd only had one game over 410 or so, so in my head I had told myself "he's going to open with a blank bingo now" and that's what happened!

#note not great; the leave is not good enough. i could do something like 7I WEAR or even the pretty awesome 7I WE -- ACHRRS is a very strong leave through that E. (but would that stay open?). tough move. -6 #tacticsmedium

#note i held for another 3-4 minutes, and decided that it's very likely good and i had to let it go. i'm glad i didn't make a steam challenge. about my play - i wasn't super enthused about blocking some lanes but i just don't know how to catch up without scoring points. i decided i was going to need to get lucky so i thought scoring 32 pts and bingoing asap next turn was better than fishing. H7 SIR sims best though by win %, it makes sense. #tacticssmall

#note B9 or B10 HM actually look like pretty good plays. they also sim ever so slightly better by win %. i block a lane but set up another one, shrug.

#note a bit of a counterintuitive situation here. quackle says i bingo slighlty more next turn if i do ROVED, and it scores 3 more. it sure doesn't seem that way to me. -2.5 #tacticssmall

>cesar: DDEFIOS N10 FID +28 143
#note i did not want to burn the last S with FIDOS. perhaps it just scores too much. i thought i needed to score and then bingo next turn making IFS. the main issue is that FID is too easy to overlap downwards. so FIDO > FID (besides having the better leave). i was playing most of this game on autopilot to protect myself i think; i realized my win % was very low, so i didn't want to spend too much time stressing about it. -2.5 #tacticssmall

#note i didn't think i'd get a spot for razored lol. i saw 12A ZEDA and ADORE at 14, and even 6L ADZ. i almost played ADZ but it's not a good play. it's easy to block if he doesn't have the E, and if he has the E then GG most likely. ZEDA keeps an ugly leave and i'm not going to hit some crazy Z bingo to it. ADORE is kind of nice and i almost played it, but ZA sims and seems best.

#note the Q again but i can play it.
>thomas_r: OPRT M3 PORT +18 340
>cesar: DEEOORR B1 ROE +18 304
#note i immediately assumed he kept the A for APORT, but a small part of me was hoping that he had temporarily forgotten the hook, so maybe i could draw for that. i considered 10B EMO for a while but again that's pretty easy to block. ROE is best here.
>thomas_r: ETY A3 TYE +13 353
>cesar: DENOPRT N2 PORTEND +89 393
#note i wrote down "portend!!!!!" on my scoresheet and realized i was pretty likely to hit it. it was still nervewracking, and i saw that i would lose if i draw the J. i was sorta expecting the J to come out, because that would certainly be poetic justice. i wouldn't have been mad.
