#player2 Chris Chris
>Alec: ?EOORST 8D ROOTErS +64 64
#note Quackle likes 8C rOOSTER. I like leaving only two double word columns open and leaving no hooks. Although with two O's, rOOSTER acts like it leaves only two double word columns open, and it allows for using the blank R in the double word column instead of the natural R.
>Chris: OY J8 .OY +14 14
>Alec: ?EEIUVW D4 WIVE. +22 86
#note Why didn't I play VIEWER or REVIEW? Actually, Quackle prefers 10F VIEWY, which scores the same as WIVER and has superior defense. Although I'm not sure I wanted defense, given I had just luckily drawn the second blank coming off a blank bingo. (-4)
>Chris: AENO E2 AEON +17 31
#note Likely a P setup.
>Alec: ?AEMTTU 11E nUTMEAT +89 175
#note 1C TApETUM blocks the P setup but is not worth the 8 point sacrifice, even inferring a P.
>Chris: AEGP 1E PAGE +28 59
>Alec: EIIIOVW H11 .OVIE +33 208
>Chris: AACFRS 12A FRACAS +33 92
#note L11 SCARF scores 37 but begins to block the board.
>Alec: BEIIILW A12 .LEW +30 238
#note Blocking column A. Because FLEW keeps all my I's, Quackle hates this, choosing B10 BIRLE as the best block and C9 BEWAIL as the best play. (-14)
>Chris: FX 2D F.X +54 146
>Alec: BGIIINR 10F BI +23 261
>Chris: UU -UU +0 146
>Alec: DGIINOR B7 GRIDI.ON +84 345
#note It was about here that Chris began complaining.
>Chris: Q -Q +0 146
#note I think this was Chris's actual exchange, despite that 9A QI is available.
>Alec: GIJLNNZ 9A J.NN +24 369
#note This is close with JINNI, JINGLE at H3 or 15C, and a few other plays. I don't know why I left the I off. Given this position again I would play JINNI.
>Chris: ACDEILR 2H DECRIAL +85 231
>Alec: AGHIKLZ 1M ZAG +52 421
>Chris: NY M1 ..NY +32 263
>Alec: BDEHIKL L4 BILKED +42 463
>Chris: AQRT 5K Q. +22 285
#note Chris's partial rack.
>Alec: DEHNTUU 7F DUH +19 482
#note Or HUT, with two T's unseen.
>Chris: ARTU -U +0 285
#note Chris told me that he drew the U after QI, and that he exchanged four keeping ART. He then drew four vowels. I know he exchanged the U and three of HILMORST. I could not figure out a rack for which an exchange is correct.
>Alec: AENPSTU 14E SUP.NATE +64 546
>Chris: AEEIORT A9 .O +12 297
>Alec: IMORSTU 6H TROI.US +28 574
#note From the information Chris had revealed during the game, I knew that Chris had AEEIRT and had drawn either H or L from the bag. If the H is in the bag, then Chris has M7 ATELIER which I must block; and I want to ensure that I go out in two. TROILUS and VOMIT meet both requirements; I think I saw VOMITS but I did not fairly consider VOMIT. VOMIT has the advantage of partially blocking the hotspot at 15L-15O while keeping SLUR available if the L is in the bag (hence Chris has the H) and setting up M10 RHUS if the H is in the bag. (-9.5)
>Chris: AEEILRT 15J RETAIL +28 325
#note TROILUS is better than VOMIT when the H is in the bag.
>Alec: HM 3H HM +24 598
>Alec: (E) +2 600
#note This is my official inauguration into the NASPA 600 Club.
