#player2 Dave_Wiegand Dave Wiegand
>Adam_Logan: ABOOOSY 8H BOOAY +28 28
>Dave_Wiegand: EHIIJRY K3 HEJIR. +32 32
#note 9I HIRE is likely a better move for board control. This is the only thing Dave could have done differently to give himself a better shot.
>Adam_Logan: AGIMOOS 4E OOGAMI.S +74 102
>Dave_Wiegand: EIMSTTY 5C STYMIE +41 73
#note many options to consider, among which MITY 5B setting up a dangerous lane/scoring spot for A(MITY), MITY 5F or 3C, MY 5E as a pure fishing move, or STYMIE to score
>Adam_Logan: EINNOQT 9G QIN +30 132
#note Q(I) or Q(I)N 6J are options to consider. dropping the Q seems to hit around 40% of the time or so. This is a good play for the board, warding off easy bingos and scoring plays Dave could have while keeping a nice balance and not relying on accurate draws in the next few moves. Q(I)N is slightly less balanced than Q(I) but hits slightly more often.
>Dave_Wiegand: BEEELNT 3J T.EBE +24 97
#note the more obscure find of B(H)EL looks a bit better, or ET(H)ENE in the same spot for extra score and dynamism
>Adam_Logan: ADENORT 10H TORNADE +70 202
>Dave_Wiegand: AEILTUZ 11D ULZIE +34 131
>Adam_Logan: AAENOPR 12D POA +31 233
>Dave_Wiegand: ?ANTTUV 3B VAUNT +27 158
>Adam_Logan: ?AEKNRS A1 kRAKENS +104 337
#note playing on the right side, which was Adam's original thought, is possibly better as it blocks more threats immediately, but it will be tough to deal with the A(VAUNT) hook if you don't draw an A for it, so dealing with it now and hoping to deal with the right side next turn is possibly only a matter of intuition. SKANkER O3 scorers the most at 106. Dave will be able to play more accurately than a static evaluator or simulation could ever dream of playing after a play on the right side, so this decision is probably favoured.
>Dave_Wiegand: ?ILORTW N7 pIL.WORT +70 228
>Adam_Logan: AADEITV O4 DAVIT +40 377
>Dave_Wiegand: AEFIRSW 2L FAW +38 266
>Adam_Logan: ADEEHIU O12 HEID +49 426
>Dave_Wiegand: CEEFIRS F11 ..RF +24 290
#note possibly the only play in the position that gives Dave a chance to win. If Adam is stuck with consonants for the rest of the game, Dave might be able to pull something off. Or if Dave draws DX for EXCISED.
>Adam_Logan: AEGNOPU M10 .OPE +33 459
#note no such luck for Dave, as Adam powers through to victory. Something as blocky as possible such as OP/OF would be a terrible mistake, as it would allow for such plays as ECLI(P)SED/ECLI(P)SER through the P that was meant to block ZARFS. Other than that, AG/FA appears to be the strongest block in the position, but it's just not worth it.
>Dave_Wiegand: CEEILNS 15F SELENIC +103 393
>Adam_Logan: ADEGLNU 1M GEN +24 483
#note this would be the correct endgame in a vacuum, however X(I) is by far Dave's best endgame play, and many plays blocking that and going out next turn are superior, the best one being GU(I)LE for 8 leaving DAN 1M next turn.
>Dave_Wiegand: CGRUX 6J X. +25 418
>Adam_Logan: ADLU 2F AULD +15 498
