#player2 Jim_Burlant Jim Burlant
>Darin_True: IQ 8G QI +22 22
>Jim_Burlant: AEGIRST 9E GAITERS +74 74
#note An opening rack bingo so easy even I can't screw it up, as rusty as I currently am. All the I column possibilities have their board position issues (as does this) so it became a matter of choosing the highest scorer. This is best.
>Darin_True: EEPY J6 PEE.Y +24 46
>Jim_Burlant: BEEIKRU 10B KUBIE +30 104
#note After a couple of minutes, I find it. This is clearly best - best score, takes away 8A plays, best leave. 71% to win.
>Darin_True: DGLUY B10 .LUDGY +30 76
>Jim_Burlant: EGNRSTT 15A T.NE +24 128
#note If I'm going to play at 15A I should probably play TYRE instead of this (GRST instead of GNST). This is reasonable, but not best. The duck thinks 12A TUNG for 12 is best, and 15A TYER/TYRE are 3rd and 4th best, with this coming in 5th at an equity deficit of not quite 4 points to TUNG. If I had this to do again, TYER would have been the play.
>Darin_True: OU 13A U.O +8 84
>Jim_Burlant: ADGORST K5 GOD +17 145
#note I also saw K5 GOD but rejected it due to board position. I assumed he was keeping well after UDO and GOD gave him a wide open G for an -ING 8. With this, his options are limited. Q agrees - this is best.
>Darin_True: ABIT L3 BAIT +20 104
>Jim_Burlant: ANORRST M3 ORTS +28 173
#note Wow - N(IT)RATORS score 80 at H7. I only saw ANTRORSE and looked to defend. Interestlyingly, Quackle hates this. If I'm not finding the bingo, the duck wants me to play M2 ROAN. I sort of see that, but I like this just the same: it puts me up 69 points on a board that doesn't have very lucrative lines available. Outside of the bingo, I'd do this again.
>Darin_True: EO 11D OE +16 120
>Jim_Burlant: AAANORT -AAO +0 173
#note This is what happens when you prejudge a rack and decide before your opponent's next play that you're going to exchange. I just knee-jerked this without looking at row 12. After I hit the clock I realized the exchange was totally unnecessary; ANOA 12D should have been the play.
>Darin_True: AEHJNOU -2 +0 120
>Jim_Burlant: ACLNRTW D10 ..RN +17 190
#note Thinkng out of the box. Where's he going to bingo on this board if I play BORN? The C column isn't exactly promising and we're looking at 9's down the H column. Quackle notwithstanding, I'd do this again.
>Darin_True: Z 7I Z.. +23 143
>Jim_Burlant: AACLRTW N1 CAW +24 214
#note Gotta know it to play it: SALWAR plays at K9 and doesn't play with fire on row 1. Fortunately for me, Darin was pretty much hamstrung by the tile bag all game.
>Darin_True: AEILMRS 1J MALI.E +33 176
#note Actual rack.
>Jim_Burlant: ALNNRTU O3 LUNAR +15 229
#note Note to self: be 100% sure you know all back hooks to a word before stopping one short of a triple. I didn't know LUNAR took an S, and I thought the worst case was that I might be giving away LUNARIAN extensions. I did this to dump the rack and turn as many tiles as I could to chase the blank. If I had this to do again, I'd have played LUN for 13. I benefit from this short-term, but pay the piper later:
>Darin_True: IOOPRS 2F POORIS +24 200
>Jim_Burlant: ?ENNOTW 1B NEWTONs +98 327
#note Only other bingo is the same word at 3B for 78.
>Darin_True: AJMS 8L JAMS +81 281
#note Had no idea whether LUNARS was good (it is) but didn't want to risk losing my comeback play.
>Jim_Burlant: DEENTVX 3C VEXT +33 360
#note VEXED scores 47. Gotta pay attention.
>Darin_True: A B1 .A +4 285
>Jim_Burlant: DEF A2 DEF +14 374
#note Didn't record this rack correctly. I recall it had some sort of unplayable 8. I played this to take away possible bingoes down the A column, but this wasn't too smart because it opened up bingoes starting in I on row 5. IF I had this to do again, I'd probably play DE instead of DEF.
>Darin_True: I A2 ...I +8 293
>Jim_Burlant: ?DEFLNO 5A .NFOLDEr +72 446
>Darin_True: CHR M8 .RCH +10 303
#note Final racks not recorded, final score 474 - 310 my win.
