>Gibson: ABIOT 8D BIOTA +20 20
>Avery: ELLMNNR E7 L.MNER +16 16
#note Liked this a little more than MERLIN since the DW-DL lane that I open scores a little less and isn't as easy to use.
>Gibson: GIZ 12D G.IZ +28 48
>Avery: DLNOOSV 9G OLD +12 28
#note Tanked here. Didn't want to block the BIOTAS hook, but VOLT allows him to do that and it also doesn't score anything. VOLOST is fun but wrong too. OVAL scores nothing and blocks the S hook. Open to thoughts here. I spent a while here and came up blank. This concedes an E hook, but he's not guaranteed to have one, so it's as good as anything I guess. Maybe OVAL is fine, but this is definitely wrong.
>Gibson: ADRY J6 DRAY +20 68
>Avery: ENNOSSV K5 VOES +21 49
#note I wasn't sure of LIMNERS! This at least sets up ASS.
>Gibson: ACI 7I A..IC +11 79
>Avery: HILNNST F11 H.NT +14 63
#note Ooh, I missed NIHIL! I just assumed nothing played there. I made the inference that he wouldn't play AREIC if he had an S, so I went for broke.
>Gibson: RUU D12 .URU +6 85
#note He probably drew two U's after AREIC, or UREIC would have come down...
>Avery: ILNSSVY M2 SYLVI. +28 91
#note I thought SYLVANS was the only acceptable spelling. SYLVINS scores 100. Apparently this isn't a word though! I was so sure of this that I thought it took an S too! Wow.
>Gibson: ADEILOR 2F DARIOLE. +65 150
#note He lamented not playing TAILORED.
>Avery: ADEENPS 1A SNEAPED +89 180
#note Gotta block up here since he scores way more on average. The N is harder to bingo from, so SNEAPED over SPEANED.
>Gibson: AFI 13F .AIF +24 174
>Avery: ?AENTUW 2B AWE +23 203
#note Nothing amazing here, so I decided to go into lockdown mode and have a closed board standoff while holding one of the last two hooks to HINT. Whoever bingos first gets the control of the board, so I didn't want to play something like 3G WEN or WET because if I don't bingo on my next turn, he'll play on the bottom and I don't have a good way to get back in.
>Gibson: IJO 10B JOI. +27 201
>Avery: ?BMNRTU I1 M.B +10 213
#note I didn't like BURNT because the HINTS hook becomes unblockable, and if he gets the case S, I can't deal with that. With 6 E's unseen, NRTU? becomes pretty good, and ENRSTU can bingo a good amount on row 4 if he doesn't hit it first. He's not even guaranteed an S, so this becomes super hard to block.
>Gibson: AEG 3A AGE +24 225
>Avery: ?NORTTU B10 .UNTO +24 237
#note I didn't draw an E! I wasn't sure of OUTTURN and didn't want to risk a turn over it.
>Gibson: EGINORS 4C REGIONS +83 308
#note SIGNORE puts the O at 15J, and I can hit him hard with a nonbingo keeping the blank. I like this more.
>Avery: ?CEIORT 12I ERgOTIC +77 314
#note ORECTIC plays too, and is probably a little better.
>Gibson: FKPQTWX N11 F.XT +28 336
#note Unrealistically, he left U? in the bag. QUILT or something would have put the game away. Freakishly bad draw, I felt really bad. He drew that from 16 in the bag.
>Avery: AEEEHNT M9 THE.A +41 355
#note For some reason I thought NEATH/TEE could get blocked and got caught up in my head. I felt so bad knowing what he had and got a little distraught.
>Gibson: ?KPQUW 15F sUQ +40 376
>Avery: EEN 10G NEE +12 367
>Avery: (KPW) +24 391
