#note Instead of fishing, I could play EXIT. Fishing works out poorly if Carl plays at H1, or I don't hit my fish and he plays on row 15. EXIT does allow Carl to refish at H1, which could be a problem. I could also block the L with EDITED or EDDIED. EDITED opens up a nice scoring spot for me but said spot might not be good enough to outrun any H1 bingos. A sim has Carl bingoing about 47% of the time after EXIT and about 25% after EDITED. So it seems better to play EDITED, more so because I have real chances to bingo out in response to a bingo by Carl. Why does Quackle think Carl bingos more after EXIT than after DYE, though? Something to do with fishing? Anyway, if I do DYE, I hit column H with 8/13 tiles, and sometimes beat a column H bingo from Carl. On the other hand, I give him more chances to fish. I can't see (how) something else (is) better than EDITED (or maybe EDDIED). Maybe plays through the R on column J could be good? Also, how would I figure this out in-game? Maybe I'd reason that the E is a worse shot to hit because of all the Es unseen or something. In general, more words end with E than have an L in the 1st or 2nd position, but I wouldn't have been confident in answering that question either.
