>Carl: AOQTTTY 8G QAT +24 24
#note Quackled this with Carl and Rafi.
>Noah: ADEHITV 9F VIDE +28 28
#note Or VITA?
>Carl: OSSTTYY J8 SOY +36 60
>Noah: ACEEHOT 11F THECAE +29 57
>Carl: MNSTTTY -NTTY +0 60
>Noah: BEIOOOR 11D OO...... +26 83
>Carl: EMORSTT H11 .MOTE +30 90
>Noah: BEEIKOR 12A BROKE +42 125
>Carl: LRRSTUW A12 .URL +18 108
#note Carl didn't like WURST here. I wondered if it might be a good play.
>Noah: AEGINOU G11 .UGE +21 146
#note Seems good to block here.
>Carl: EIRSSTW F13 EW +31 139
#note Carl missed / I think didn't know WRISTERS here.
>Noah: AAIINOX 14A .AIA +8 154
#note Might as well set up the X? I could do XI 12K but I'd probably rather not open anything (the board will almost certainly open eventually, probably at 7H, but I don't need to help things along). I could also do AX J14 as an E block, though this obscures the R a bit.
>Carl: DGIRSST 15C DIG +12 151
>Noah: EILNOUX 12K XU +27 181
>Carl: CFRRSST 15G R.FT +16 167
>Noah: AEEILNO 14J AE +8 189
#note Seems good. Saw EOLIAN and also considered ANILE and ALONE. Probably can't do EOLIAN; let me know if I'm wrong. ANILE is probably the best play on row 14 but this seems better.
>Carl: ABCERSS H7 C.. +6 173
>Noah: DEILNOP 13L PO +12 201
#note Figured I should make my own opening since Carl probably has an S anyway. DE 10E seems to suck. Carl may use my opening instead of his, but many of his plays open up good options for me on col O.
>Carl: ABERRSS B10 BR. +11 184
#note VIDEOS seems to be a better fish.
>Noah: DDEILMN N10 MIDDLE +38 239
#note There are five Ns left. So I should probably play MILDEN, MIDDEN, or MINDED.
>Carl: AEERSSV 15L VE.S +33 217
>Noah: GILNNRT O8 GRIN +21 260
>Carl: AEEIRSU A7 UREA +16 233
>Noah: AIILNTY C4 ANILITY +70 330
>Carl: ?EIINOS D3 lIONISE +79 312
#note Rafi and Carl both thought InOSINE D3 looked better than this, because it doesn't open the 6B J / Z spot. (Carl was annoyed that he didn't notice this in-game.) They're probably right but I still don't feel super sure about it.
>Noah: FLNNNTZ 6B Z.. +32 362
>Carl: ?AHJPSW M9 JAW +32 344
#note HeP E5 seems to win 5/8 endgames. Quackle doesn't see anything better. (It's next best choice is PAtHS, for 2/8.) Are there stronger choices? As you will see, there is reason not to be confident in Quackle's judgment in this pre-endgame (though if you are observant you probably would've thought that already).
>Noah: AFLNNNT 5C ..NFAN +18 380
#note This and NONFAT appear to tie at best, against optimal play. Oddly, Quackle says that NONFAT ties, but not NONFAN. Can you find the tie? Even better, is there a win? (we didn't find one in the post-mortem)
>Carl: ?HOPS H1 HySO. +24 368
>Noah: LNT 4G L.T +5 385
>Carl: P 7C ..P +5 373
>Carl: (N) +2 375
