#note she blocked dihydric! and no place for dryadic.

I miss WEIRDY which is the way to go. I liked the idea of setting up sweet extensions for later! looking at the list of 19 words, I wouldn't find most of them though.

I didn't see the other (more likely) extension though, which I hit 2.6% of the time!

>jackson: ?DDDIRU -DDU +0 39
#note didn't consider DUVET, but I am not a fan. It gives back easy points to her, and my bingo prospects still aren't very good. I kept DIR? beacuse I figured she might try to open the board, and then my bingo prospects are much better than if I exchange more tiles.

DIR? is definitely the best exchange, but mostly cause of the aforementioned extension that I now hit a lot more

#note oh the aforementioned aforementioned extension is actually invalid. I always think WIZARD is a noun and verb and adjective, but it's just a noun and adjective! If this were valid it would be best.

some might prefer qINDARS though in order to create the nice right angle with qindars/yams, making the bottom right harder to access. qindars is certainly the best bingo here because it keeps the top left more closed than after other plays - QI takes no front hooks, so underlaps will keep the top left quite restricted. WIZARDING probably leads to the top left being opened more often, but it's still gonna most likely stay closed.

given wizarding gets challenged sometimes and the positional advantage (qindars really closes down the right side of the board, cause wizarding leaves the K column which will domino into the whole right side staying open), qindars looks like the clear decision here. wizarding (if it stays on) wins a sim by a few points, cause the S is quite valuable, but I think this was a mistake.

#note she overdrew - I put back the N from AEN. she's probably vowel heavy since she didn't play pane
>jackson: DEFHIOU C7 FUD +33 289
>lilla: BDEOR E8 BORDE. +18 162
>jackson: ADEGHIO L10 HAO +26 315
#note oh no! I missed all the words! I didn't miss collins though

HOAGIE, AGIO, GEOID. HAO has immediate defense but not as much long term defense, andrunning away with hoagie is great.

M column overlaps will reopen the S hook - this decreases hao's defense some, although this position is close to as good as it gets for the longterm defense of HAO-type plays: overlaps have to go HO- or LO-, and there is only one L and one H in the pool, and then only one S to hook with.

this is why right side stacking is usually not that defensive longterm. it's hard to consistently have plays like HAO that stack while leaving things closed. Left side stacking is way more defensive cause front S hooks are way rarer than back S hooks. this is why, even if the score is close, I'd much rather play something like HOAGIE to just run away. GEOID and AGIO are also decent balances, though in this case I prefer HOAGIE.

#note waiting for somethign better at a1, or for her to open a lane so I can bingo
>lilla: EKO M12 OKE +17 199
#note actually this is one decent think about the defense of HAO - NOO doesn't take an S so it's possible to make plays like this that do lead the bottom right to be totally dead after a couple turns. all this is to say that HAO is basically as good as you'll ever get with that kind of play, and it's still not foolproof. play at your own risk
