#player1 Heidi_Robertson Heidi Robertson
#player2 Henry_De_Young Henry De Young
>Heidi_Robertson: EIMOORT 8D MOTOR +20 20
#note I did not know what to do with this rack.

Quackle would rather exchange two O's than do what I did. :(

MOTOR was not even in Quackle's list. This kind of nuance is beyond me, because MOOTER is fine.

>Henry_De_Young: AEU D11 EAU +14 43
>Heidi_Robertson: CEEFLNR 9G FERN +23 158
#note Having been burned so much with consonant heavy leaves, I opt for FERN instead of FEN.
>Henry_De_Young: ABK C9 KAB +19 62
>Heidi_Robertson: ACEELOW 4F LOWE +17 175
#note My selection is pretty far down the list. In retrospect, WOE is a far better play there.
>Henry_De_Young: AEILPST K3 TALIPES +76 138
>Heidi_Robertson: ACEHRSV - +0 175
#note Challenged TALIPES. You would think I should know this word, but you would be wrong. I had only ever seen TALIPED.

Many more failed challenges to come over the series ... Was definitely a thing this tournament, and likely the reason for such a poor performance. But I guess I need to learn the hard way ...

>Henry_De_Young: AEIISTV 1H .AVITIES +92 294
>Heidi_Robertson: BEFNNOS F10 FE +32 304
#note Man, I am working so hard here!

(Every game, all tournament!)
>Henry_De_Young: AIIRTUZ 10B Z. +31 325
>Heidi_Robertson: BCNNOSU O1 .NUB +9 313
>Henry_De_Young: ER O7 RE +18 343
#note Henry announces the score here as 16. This error is resolved in a lengthy recount later on, where he gains back the two points to tie the game.
>Heidi_Robertson: CDNNOSX H8 ..ND +5 318
#note I am very greedy, and didn't want to give up my power tiles just yet. so opening a lane for my S. These are the types of errors that cost me games, I'm sure.

Quackle be like, "Dude, WTF? Just play COX!"

>Henry_De_Young: EIJLRTU 11H .UE +4 347
>Heidi_Robertson: CINNOSX C13 XI +36 354
#note I don't mind admitting that there is a bit of arrogance happening in this game too because I am playing a <1200-rated player.

But don't worry ... Over the course of this event, I very much learn to never underestimate my opponents, no matter what the rating. Many of these people have been tournament players for decades.
>Henry_De_Young: AIJLRST 15A JIST +46 393
>Henry_De_Young: AIJLRST -- -46 347
#note I was so worried he was playing JISM ... and so relieved when the T went down. I think he was goint to play JEST, and at the last minute decided he wanted to get rid of the I instead. We've all been there, right?
>Heidi_Robertson: CILNNOS 15A CIS +25 379
#note Now I feel like I have to take out this spot, and have nothing decent to play.

What do experts do here? Because Quackle is saying CON/PERVO.
>Henry_De_Young: AIJLRST 7H TRI. +24 371
>Heidi_Robertson: ALNNOTT K11 TON +16 395
#note Another play that is valued below 5-letter plays in this spot, or TON/PERVO.

Why should I open the Triple when I think Henry has the other blank? Thinking if he bingoes, I come back in the triple lane. No?
>Henry_De_Young: EJU 14J JEU +30 401
>Heidi_Robertson: AAILNRT J13 A.I +12 407
#note I figure now that I have lost this game. I can't bingo, I have one-point tiles, and I can't leave that J open with the pool as it is.

Quackle doesn't suggest AJI.
>Henry_De_Young: ?EILOOS 15H LE.S +17 418
>Heidi_Robertson: ALNRT 13J ..NAL +12 419
#note I still figure I'm done ... but don't realise he has IOO? left. Still, he can outrun me with tons of stuff ... but he misses it all and goes over time.
>Henry_De_Young: ?IOO 14N OI +8 426
>Heidi_Robertson: RT 14B T. +8 427
>Henry_De_Young: ?O 12G Os +7 433
#note OH GAWD. Remember when I said we did a lengthy recount?

We obviously didn't do a good job, because I STILL didn't notice that I forgot to score AN when playing AJI.
2 more points for me. :(

Another game that I won ... but I was so happy with the tie after he failed to pull the trigger, that I wasn't really thinking clearly. *SIGH*
