#note Hate this but there isn't much else - 7H or 9H OY are pretty easy to overlap too so don't give me materially better bingo prospects next turn.

#note Absolutely hate these type of fishing plays but I don't see an alternative - I'm already down a bingo so need to make something happen, and this isn't that easy to block without giving a new lane back.

#note I think this play was a bit of a misjudgment. I was worried about plays like FES in this spot followed by a big Z play outrunning me without a bingo, but I think I should've played 15A NAN right now and blocked one of the two remaining bingo lanes so that I can block the B next turn if she doesn't hit it. Having both lanes open later turned out to be a huge problem. Plus NAN does block ZIP and ZEP at 15A which makes it even harder to outrun without a bingo, so NAN seems to be best here.

#note Now I'm in a bit of a pickle since it's hard for me to block one lane while not leaving a way for Diane to open a new one. If I block the B with a parallel play on column N or K it's pretty easy for her to parallel back and open a new lane and leave me with that and the A to block. And my play allows plays to the letters in QUIETED as happened in the game. I also considered stuff like C9 NA, but this allows plays like B12 FLAP and other things that I will pretty much have to block leaving her the B to bingo out with. Another idea is playing off more tiles to reduce her flexibility in fishing without emptying the bag, but it's not all that easy to do that. I could do something like RABATS, but that still allows two-tile fishes above that could easily yield bingos in to spots. 10B RAITAS is also an option, which I actually kind of like - if Diane fishes one or two tiles above it, I'll often be able to score enough on the A column to outrun bingos through the B if I draw one of the high-point tiles, and similarly if she tries something like REV up top. Of course she could still bingo through the B immediately, but that's a bit less likely than her hitting it after fishing specifically for it. Granted, I'm highly unlikely to outrun after a bingo through the B after RAITAS since she's basically guaranteed to draw an out on a two-tile draw and I doubt I'll be able to score enough in response (except maybe 15A FEH in some extreme cases, but I'm not even sure). But I think conceding a basically guaranteed loss to an immediate B bingo is OK - let's face it, my play and NA still lose almost all the time to immediate B bingos while allowing many more dangerous fishing opportunities. Quackle, interestingly, suggests 6H RAZED, which doesn't really accomplish anything directly. The idea seems to be that if Diane bingos immediately I may be able to outrun since I'll be down about 20 with STAIN as a leave and her having 5 tiles, which she most likely can't go out with. The problem is she can just fish and I'm back to square one since both lanes are still open. It also allows plays at H1 that may in some cases score enough to outrun without a bingo or even yield a bingo up top and through the A in AUDILE. So I'm not a big fan of RAZED - I think I need to at least block one of the lanes, and right now I'm liking RAITAS (or the basically identical NAIRAS) even though Quackle doesn't come up with in (not RAITA - the S is useless since I'm not getting outrun without a bingo after RAITAS anyway, and leaving 2 in the bag is much better since it reduces the number of fishes and forces most any that might work to empty the bag). Really interesting position, if anyone has a better idea than any of the ones I looked at please let me know.

#note 6/8 is the best I can do - drawing the L allows RESkETCH/HERETiCS through the C and SHERBETs through the B, and drawing the H allows many bingos through both. I was running low on time permuting all the possibilities and had realized I was toast with an L or H draw but had spent more time looking through the C and was more confident there was nothing else through the C than through the B. Hence I blocked the B. Turns out there is nothing through either the C or B with any other draw, so I should block the C to save spread, but ASPICS still loses by at least 5 after an outbingo through the B, which I had also determined during the game.
