>Karl_Higby: DEELORY 8D YODELER +80 80
>Josh_Sokol: AFNNNOU D4 FUNN. +22 22
#note I should just play FANON somewhere. I was fascinated by the fact that I had drawn into NONFAN for the second time in one tournament that I didn't even see FANON on my rack.
>Karl_Higby: EIJPTTU 6B JU. +26 106
#note F2 JUTTIE(D) is Karl's play. Luckily he doesn't quite take advantage of my mistake
>Josh_Sokol: AHINNOW 7I WANION +25 47
#note was between this and HAW 7G to me. E2 HWAN seems OK too. I figured there was almost no chance he had an S and it was good to try and take advantage of his range. But this was weak.
>Karl_Higby: EEGIPTT 6J PETTI +36 142
>Josh_Sokol: ?AAHHPT E3 HAH +33 80
#note I was overcome with a rush here when I spotted the 9s I could play through the AR, when he swiftly blocked those. I then spent the next 6 minutes or so looking for a bingo. I saw NAPHTHAL* as a possibility, but it's only NAPHTHOL or NAPHTHYL. I didn't remember NAPHTHA or APHTHA, so 9I nAPHTHA was my play.
>Karl_Higby: AADEGRT F2 DAG +21 163
#note I blocked GRADATED
>Josh_Sokol: ?AILOPT 9I TALIPOt +75 155
#note some cool 9s available here, but this looks best.
>Karl_Higby: AEILRTV G7 R.LATIVE +67 230
>Josh_Sokol: CEEKNSX F10 KEX +51 206
#note completely insane position where I have three great plays that all have their setbacks. F10 KEX blocks, making it harder to come back if Karl immediately drew a big S play with RELATIVES. 10M EX blocks the T which makes the board more likely to close within a few turns, but keeps the highest-scoring options for the next turn but slightly fewer bingos. And SNECK 15G if I think Karl has an S already, but I guessed that he hadn't drawn one. So between EX and KEX, I'd rather keep the T of TALIPOt open and the more balanced leave of CENS, but I was not at all married to the idea. Thoughts are welcome here.
>Karl_Higby: ?EGIIOS B4 GO.I +12 242
>Josh_Sokol: CDEINSW 10L DEW +35 241
#note now the position is even more ridiculous. In the absence of an S, Karl has made a new huge spot and a second small scoring spot. Does he have the blank?
>Karl_Higby: ?BEEISU 15E BISE +30 272
#note Karl has 2F (D)EBrUISE here, but this isn't much worse.
>Josh_Sokol: CGIINSV 3E ..VING +18 259
#note Even with keeping the best leave (CENS) with KEX, my rack has now gotten pretty awful. I'm pretty much convinced he has the blank and am banking on some sort of mistake.

I didn't want to play 11C CIV(ET) for two reasons. Mainly because if he played down column A next turn, CIV(ET) would pre-emptively block column B so I would have nothing to respond with. But also because INGS was not a good leave here on this board, much worse tthan usual. I felt I needed to keep as much of the board open as possible, but really I should just play CIV(ET) and hope for the best.
>Karl_Higby: ?AAEIMU O1 CURAtES +95 367
>Karl_Higby: ?AAEIMU -- -95 272
#note One of the things I was thinking about is whether or not Karl would be confused between PUTTI-E and PETTI/. Very lucky break here.
>Josh_Sokol: CEFIRSU H1 CU.F +39 298
#note now even though I know his rack I have to give this C up and hope for column A/hope he misses stuff from the C so I can get a bingo from it. I have around a 1/4 shot of winning at this point. I will win most of the time I get a bingo down since I'll likely have tempo in the endgame.
>Karl_Higby: ?ACERSU 1H .AESURiC +86 358
#note Karl was quite low on time but saw this, luckily not the 92-point anagram though. The 5th best equity play here is the insanely cool L4 RA(TI)C(ID)ES keeping the blank and the U for 60 points. It sims best, especially considering my real leave.
>Josh_Sokol: EIINRSS 12D NI..ES +28 326
#note 2J RISEN looks like it might be the play, seems better than R(ET)INES to leave the ET alone in the tiny chance I get to use it. I thought I should open this lane and hope to draw a bingo starting in O.
>Karl_Higby: ABDEMOZ A7 MAZED +55 413
>Josh_Sokol: AAEIRRS B9 AREA +24 350
#note just gave up here. Maybe play IR off and hope for OL for AREOLAS B9. Probably should do that though I'm just getting outrun
>Karl_Higby: B 14F B. +20 433
>Josh_Sokol: EIOQRRS 11J QIS +28 378
>Karl_Higby: LMOOOTY E11 M.L +20 453
#note E10 OM(I)T
>Josh_Sokol: EORRT 2J ROTE +18 396
>Karl_Higby: OOOTY 3M TOY +18 471
#note I give him 4H (F)OOTY so ROTE was wrong
>Josh_Sokol: R N5 R.. +3 399
#note he gives me (C)R(Y) but I miss. I Cri Evrytiem
>Josh_Sokol: (OO) +4 403
