#note I should just end the annotation here shouldn't I.

As expected IT sims best here by around a point. To me that's too vowel-heavy and there's already an I on the board, and Karl is way more likely than usual to block the E and the S, the two tiles that pair best with the IT combination, if you would even call it that. Quackle is definitely wrong here. Maybe I am too, but this I know for sure.
>Karl_Higby: ELNNSUV J4 VULN. +10 88
#note there you go again there you go again now playing that defense
>Josh_Sokol: ABEGRRT E5 BEG.RRA +40 40
#note I really wanted BOGARTER* to be valid, until I decided not to try it, which is when I really didn't want BOGARTER* to be valid

This was held, and I hoped Karl would challenge or not know the hooks
>Karl_Higby: CEENSY D8 .EENY +28 116
>Josh_Sokol: DEIOSTT H6 OT.TIDES +60 100
#note this was also held and then subsequently "nice"-d.
>Karl_Higby: CFIINSS F5 IF +30 146
>Josh_Sokol: AIJKMTV 5I M.JIK +36 136
#note finally go to play this word, but perhaps VI(V)AT is worth considering
>Karl_Higby: CEGINSS N2 CESSING +93 239
>Josh_Sokol: ?ADEOTV L4 V.OlATED +74 210
#note my wordfinding skills were absolutely trash this turn, I was unable to see ObV(I)ATED or DEV(I)ATOr and it took me some 4 minutes to see V(I)OlATED, which I ended up going for pretty soon after I saw it. I was going to play OVATED* O8, which is just not a word.
>Karl_Higby: AEEMNOU G10 MEOU +19 258
>Josh_Sokol: EEHIOPW K10 WIPE +29 239
#note normally HOWE is better, to create fewer hooks for Karl to utilize and to keep a similarly good leave, but EIP is just worse than EHO on this board, especially given the O8 spot, so WIPE was the correct choice.
>Karl_Higby: AY M3 YA. +36 294
>Josh_Sokol: AEHIIOX O8 IXIA +42 281
#note So my backup plan if Karl was to play down column O was to play J11 HOAX, but given that the O8 spot is pretty unlikely for Karl to hit with only two O's and one I left unseen, HOAX actually sims best by almost 3 points over IXIA. IXIA also gives back a big scoring spot while HOAX plays scoring defense when behind. Had I considered the pool, I think HOAX would have been my choice. Instead this leads to bad stuff.
>Karl_Higby: AABDENT N10 BATED +40 334
>Josh_Sokol: CDEHORR D1 CREDO +27 308
#note wish I would have seen 14I ROD. I don't need the blank to win here, CREDO was giving into that hypothesis. There is only one remaining E and 14I ROD sets mine up very well. Karl would have to sacrifice a ton to block if he doesn't have the last E himself, and then I can potentially outscore him. However, drawing the blank is still of top importance, but it can wait a turn to see what Karl does. This isn't a 15-point mistake as Quackle thinks, but certainly a mistake.
>Karl_Higby: ALNRRTU 1D .URRANT +27 361
#note ugh, he didn't have the blank! I wish I could have drawn it.
>Josh_Sokol: HHLNNRU J11 HUNH +31 339
#note ok time to represent the blank or draw it.
>Karl_Higby: AILOOPQ 4A QAI. +24 385
#note ooh, only 4 tiles left, so I had a 50-50 chance of drawing it
>Josh_Sokol: AEGLNRZ 3M ..Z +15 354
#note 1/4!
>Karl_Higby: ?AFLOOP 3B FL.A +23 408
#note aw

AP(E) is one point better. I was hoping miraculously he would mistrack or miss ARGENTAL but Karl was too solid this game. Nice game man.
>Josh_Sokol: AEGLNRT O13 LEG +17 371
#note -3 to the cute 14I T(H)REA(D)
>Karl_Higby: ?OOP 14D OOPs +17 425
