>Steve: BCILMRX H4 CLIMB +28 28
>Laurie: AEEHINO G7 HAE +26 26
>Steve: AEFILRX F9 FLAXIER +76 104
#note Scored as 72
>Laurie: ADEINOU 15D OU.IE +18 44
#note L: NEUROID certainly seems better.
S: The duck prefers getting points with DOU(X) or DU(R)ION.
>Steve: AEEIRSU 12C EAU. +22 126
#note Second best. . . to the missed bingo! Not sure if this is due to poor board vision, or wrongly assuming nothing's there and moving on prematurely.
>Laurie: ADNNSTZ 14H ADZ +35 79
>Steve: BEIPRST E11 P.B +26 152
>Laurie: EINNSTU K9 TUNNIES +78 157
#note Never noticed 5D UNSILENT
>Steve: EIIIRST -II +0 152
#note It's close between the exchange, or attempting to play through with 12j I(N)TI or IRITI(C).
>Laurie: AACDDHO C9 COH.AD +30 187
#note L: Scored as 28
S: Q likes ADD L12 by about 5 points in valuation and a few percentage points in winning chances.
>Steve: DEIRSTY B10 YE +31 183
#note This is way down the list of choices from Q, with the best option the 2x2 RID(L)EYS for 44 points. It's a miss that put me on my back, unable to recover. b13 YID is next best even tho it scores six less, due to the power leave of REST.
>Laurie: ?ADGNNT 6C DoNAT.NG +72 259
#note Got lucky!
>Steve: DGIIRST 10J T.RGID +12 195
#note duck likes 12h GRIND or the overlapping 5b DIGIT. This opens the board but gets nothing in terms of points. Major error.
>Laurie: AIKOTUV O8 VO.KA +42 301
#note L: Steve said he could use some!
S: The best in terms of winning percentage of three good options. The others are the 48-point DAKOIT or the OUTCLIMB extension.
>Steve: AIRSSWW 7B WAW +18 213
#note You need to score points when you're down by over a hundred points and then hope you get lucky with the tiles. In other words, forget about leave, or at least give it less relevance. Q says 13m WIS for 26, or 15 SWISS for 36.
>Laurie: EGIITUV 4B UVEITI. +24 325
>Steve: ?EEIRSS H4 .....ERS +20 233
>Laurie: GLMNPQT G3 Q. +21 346
#note L: 13B LAMBING would have been cute
S: It's pretty academic at this point, and getting rid of the Q eliminates the risk of having to eat it in the end game. But there's a beautiful four tile dump near the bottom of the board that scores the same.
>Steve: ?ILRRST N12 TIRL +10 243
#note championship player never gives up, and says to open the 3x3 line in Row 1 with LIR(I) RiL(E) or LIR(E).
>Laurie: EGLMNPT 15K .ME.L +30 376
>Steve: ?ANORSS M4 SOARiN.S +60 303
>Laurie: EGJNOPT 8A JO +32 408
#note S: Q takes the points, knowing there's no possible 3x3, with JETON L1 for 46.
>Steve: EFIOORY N2 ROOFIE +35 338
#note If playing for point spread the best plays are at A11 with FIERY or FOYER, but my mind is fried at the end of a long day comprised of four straight losses. The highest scoring play is N2 REIFY for a whoppig 58 points.
>Laurie: EEGNOPT O1 NEEP +39 447
#note Nice to end the tourney on a win, but sorry it had to be at the expense of my friend, Steve.
>Steve: Y 11A Y.. +9 347
#note Actual game score was recorded as 445-351, due to scoring errors.

And thus ends my first tournament in New Orleans. Hopefully, it won't be my last. This one was lots of fun, and very well run. I highly recommend this tournament and this city.
>Steve: (GOT) +8 355
