>bob: DMOOPQU I5 DOOM +21 21
>jackson: AELNRTT J4 TETRAL +26 48
#note I could do TETRA here instead, cause TETRAL* is phony. I wans't sure if TETRAL was phony but it never gets challenged, and looked a bit better than TETRA, so looks like the play.

I hate how S hooky the board is here, which gives definite merit to ALT G7 - although it leaves an S hook open, it's easier to block. HOwever, TETRAL does make the position harder if he doesn't have an S (blocking the J6 easy hotspot), and TETRAL can get S hooked sometimes, so I'm still okay with this choice.
>bob: AHNPQSU K8 HASP +29 50
>jackson: GJLNOTV -GJLNOTV +0 48
#note haha GJLNOT has a static valuation of -2 which is amazing. thank you JOLTING and JELUTONG. sadly I will not be dropping (LA)V here, which is my highest static play

I didn't want to keep NT here or anything cause this board is really S dependent and not very bingo friendly, so I really want to reach for an S. Keeping NT isn't terrible cause he does open the board fairly often, so I'm fine with that. Sims very close
>bob: AAELNQU L11 AQUAE +34 84
#note I'm very surprised that my average doesn't go way up with AQUA! it's about 3 higher than my average after EQUAL.

also who knew that the L is more dangerous in this position than the E? there are quite a few more words ????L??? than ????E???

AQUAE sims best

>bob: ?AELLNR M5 LANdLER +63 147
>jackson: EJKRUVV L2 JUKE +32 157
#note really don't like setting up a big S hook with JUKU, despite the E helping the leave a lot (cause I want to hit a V?RVE word at 14b).

#note this worked out well!
>bob: AGIMOUY O13 MAY +28 236
>jackson: BDFORSZ 5D FORB... +26 234
#note totally missed F(J)ORD here - looks better. I do like opening the board, but fjord is just solid, especially cause I get some nice BIZE type plays on row 1 somewhat often.

FORBODE also sets up Z plays but they don't happen as often and they give back more. definite mistake
>bob: BGINOOU 2J BI.OU +40 276
>jackson: DFIISYZ D3 IF.Y +26 260
#note I chose this placement of iffy because I know IFFY's hooks and he might not - I want to increase the value of the hook so that I can capitalize on it if I draw an N

I also want to keep my Z for ZED plays at 15A
>bob: EEGINOW 14B WIGEON +31 307
>jackson: DGHIISZ C2 GHI +29 289
#note idk, I was honestly close to playing ZIGS/CONGAS here and try to outmaneouvre him in a tough endgame situation, but I think I'm just a bit too far down, cause he can make easy parallels for a lot. the NIFFY hook would be good though.

He had his tiles lined up in a 5-2 formation, although I did get a feeling that he found something at some point, so I was very reluctant to play this. it's good as long as he doesn't bingo
>bob: AEEENST F3 SE.ENATE +62 369
>jackson: DDIOOSZ 8D ZO. +22 311
#note hmm maybe JUKED here to go 2/10 for DOOZIES - my only issue is that he could block, or he could play 1 tile to not empty the bag and outrun. He can still block after ZOA though.

I hit the b column with CE, C?, CI, CR, R?, EW, W?, E?, and I?, which is 18/90 draws, which is the same chance as JUKED, except I leave 1 in the bag. ZOA looks like the play, but I still need to rely on a mistake on his end to win
>bob: ?INRSUW 11A UNWRISt +77 446
>bob: ?INRSUW -- -77 369
>jackson: CDDIOPS E13 P. +4 315
#note It seems like it would be wise to have just challenged UNWRISt and not SERENATES, in order to make him think SERENATES is good. There is some meta level where, if people are aware of this gambit, they'll see you challenging UNWRISt and know you're baiting them to play the other phony word. However I think in this situation just challenging UNWRISt would be better.

The reason is to try and force him to try to block discoes with a SERENATES* play, which I can challenge off. This is extra important cause I thought UNWR(I)t* was good and he could block wtih that! which means I would much rather make him think serenates* is good so he finds an easier block with that.

However, PE never loses, it only ties to RaWINS! I should still try to make him think serenates is good though so he doesn't try and find a tie.
