I think either REp(T)I(L)IAN or AN(T)I(L)IfER are best for bingo defense. it's not like any play is perfectly defensive cause the board has lots of places for bingoes, and longterm it will just stay really open. that is the advantage of sIRENIA(N), it doesn't particularly exhaust anything but is just decent short term. I think REPTILIAN gives back the least, and looks best

#note now I'm actually in a really good position - considered WAE because of that.

however, WAE can go wrong in so many ways - 1 row bingoes, 12 row X plays, 14 row X plays or scoring plays that open lanes.

KNEW is really solid to outrun bingoes.

however, there is also NEW as an option, setting up huge K plays.

even a simple K plays is 55, for a total of 94 over two turns. I don't average that after KNEW and my next play. Even if blocks, that's okay, cause I can play more bingo defense.

KNEW sims better but I don't really see it. I think NEW does a better job of guaranteeing a score

#note GRIFTER looks like the play. I got obsessed with how good my position was when it's really not that good - blocking O column triple triple should NOT be my MO right now - maybe if I was up another 30 points.

TRIGO can easily lose to an X bomb plus bingo, or more realistically a bingo first (if he X bombs I can empty the bag on row 1 and prevent him from bingoing. playing GRIFTER just outruns so many more bingoes. opening the S hook isn't a big deal.

#note I win 2/3 of the time if I play farce or force or anything there - he has a bingo 1/3 of the time in the pool. JOTA seems to win less - I thought I would outrun immediate bingoes and that he would not forgo bingoes, but he probably plays his X a lot as he did and bingoes out to win.

I didn't consider (G)O 13M, but I like it now. I block the X bomb so he'll have to dump it for 9 instead, and also it won't give back good parallels like the one he ended up getting. GO also seems to outrun quite a lot of immediate bingoes, even if not all.
