#note One of the worser plays I've made in some time. I saw ARCATURE, and then thought it resembled ARMATURE too much so that it couldn't also be a word. Worser yet was missing the consolation prize of CARBURET.
>jackson: ADIRTUY 7F DU.Y +13 23
#note his range is more S heavy so I like blocking all of it
>mally_mallick: ACEEGRT E9 CAGER +24 30

>mally_mallick: AEEGHTY D12 YEAH +40 70
>jackson: EEIIPQT M7 Q. +21 123
#note a common theme this tournament was me overvaluing the amount that my opponents bingo through floaters - I played Q(I) over 6F QI because I liked blocking the IOT lanes - however, I'm only lowering his bingo % by like 5, so keeping the extra I and awful future prospects is not worth it.

I was really undecided because QI was worse defense but better outscoring, Q(I) was the opposite. However, I misjudged, and in this position, the diff. in leave is faaaaaaar bigger than the diff in defense, which is small.
>mally_mallick: EEGIOTX F7 .O.X +53 123
#note JS: tis one of the situations where q(i) gets totally fucked
>jackson: EEIIPTU 6I ETUI +12 135
#note was cursing my decision making
>mally_mallick: DEEGIOT 15D .OGTIED +36 159
#note Considered keeping the D, but 6 more points seemed like enough.
>jackson: AEHIOPU C10 OUPH +38 173
#note lots of consos in the pool
>mally_mallick: ?BEEEKO G9 .EEK +18 177
>jackson: AEINPRS 14I PANIERS +81 254
>mally_mallick: ?BDEIOT B4 OrBITED +76 253
>jackson: AAANOSZ 4A Z.NA +46 300
#note I think I missed AZAN a1!!! it's also nice cause it sets up scoring spots for my second to last A, such as WA for 37
>mally_mallick: EFILNOW A1 WIN.E +52 305
>jackson: AAAIOOS -AAOO +0 300
#note tons of consos in the pool. It was tempting to play a7 AA, but AIOOS is still pretty bad, and he doesn't hit the spot too hard cause he has a lot of consonants. AIS bingoes quite a lot. As well with the case A (at this moment) it's nice to have access to the A column
>mally_mallick: FLLORVW 13J WOLF +41 346
>jackson: AIMNNSS N3 MANSI.NS +75 375
#note saw NANISMS but it looked funny! c'est vrai
>mally_mallick: ILMOORV O1 LOOM +38 384
>jackson: ACEFLSV E2 CALF +32 407
#note liked this play a lot, would rather leave 2 in the bag than 1 to give him as little flexibilitiy as possible - he can't play 1 tile cause I can just outscore him, and if he plays long, I'd rather there be 2 in the bag than 1, so that his chances of drawing an out are smaller. with ESV I can also outrun a fair amount, either with JESS draws or just with M column parallels with my E. Champ likes this and CALFS
>mally_mallick: EGILNRV O12 VI.E +33 417
#note Not crazy about parting with both vowels, but I had to score and block mega J plays here and hope for the best.
>jackson: ADEJRSV K5 J.D.S +26 433
>mally_mallick: GILNRT 4L GL.. +14 431
>jackson: AERV A9 RAVE +14 447
#note QI was a gross misevaluation, AZAN was a bad miss, and NANISMS was some shaky word knowledge. Hit all three bases!

I am thinking now that part of the reason QI is a lot less defensive than I thought at the time is because the board was already fairly open, so partially blocking a couple lanes doesn't have nearly as much as value as it does on a more closed board when I'm restricting a greater % of his bingoes. A lot of the time I will be blocking one bingo when he can hit 2 other spots anyways.
