#player2 Ayotunde_Adeyeri Ayotunde Adeyeri
>Mina: AFINNRR 8G FIRN +14 14
#note I didn't know INFRA. But why on earth does it sim so much better than FIRN? Isn't ANR more synergistic than NR?
>Ayotunde_Adeyeri: AEFLORT H3 FLOAT.ER +62 62
#note FLOREA(N)T would have scored nine points more. 9B REFLOAT or FLOREAT would have also scored more. Possibly he was focused on seeing FLOATER as a seven.
>Mina: AEEILNR 3H .LANERIE +74 88
>Mina: ABJLOPX (challenge) +5 93
#note Easily the best move. NEARLIER is the only other bingo.
>Ayotunde_Adeyeri: ADW O1 AW.D +30 92
>Mina: ABJLOPX 4J BOX +48 141
#note Why on earth didn't I play 2J JOB, JAB, or JAP, when any of those would've scored eleven points more?!!!?!!
>Ayotunde_Adeyeri: ?AADETV 10F VA.iATED +71 163
#note J6 VANaDATE was the top-scoring bingo but I wouldn't have known it. I only know VANADIUM, which is likely related.
>Mina: ?ABEJLP 2J JoL +65 206
#note My play sims fourth-best. Quackle prefers N1 JA(I) for 39 leaving BELP?, or else J2 J(AB) for 28 leaving ABELP?, which surprises me because BP seem so bad together. But then I realize that I did keep BP anyway. Still, isn't a 65-point score worth burning the blank for?
>Ayotunde_Adeyeri: CLMP 6F CL.MP +23 186
>Mina: ABEGPQR -BGQ +0 206
#note Now this surprises me! Quackle prefers 1L PEB(A) for 27 keeping AGQR, which I would have thought was an awful leave! It even quite likes M8 BA(D)GER for 22 leaving PQ, which I would've also thought a bad leave.
>Ayotunde_Adeyeri: AENW 11J WANE +28 214
>Mina: AEIIIPR -III +0 206
#note How's that for bad luck? Drawing to AEPR, I literally drew three I's. But again Quackle surprises me by recommending L6 RIPI(EN)I for 24 leaving AE, or 12G PIRAI for 17 leaving EI. I guess the score is close enough that I should be scoring rather than optimizing my leave? My move sims seventh-best.
>Ayotunde_Adeyeri: HO N1 HO. +27 241
>Mina: ABEINPR 12H BRANE +35 241
>Mina: AEINPTT (challenge) +5 246
#note My play sims second- or third-best, not bad. Quackle prefers 12I NABE for 29 leaving IPR, which I don't agree with, as my play scores 6 more AND creates a more balanced leave.
>Ayotunde_Adeyeri: GIIINOU -IIOU +0 241
>Mina: AEINPTT 9L PIT +17 263
#note Boo for not seeing the best move, H12 (B)ITT. Weak sauce!
>Ayotunde_Adeyeri: EIR 8M REI +16 257
>Mina: AENOOST H12 .OOT +18 281
#note My play is second-best. Quackle prefers the significantly lower-scoring 13G OO, for the superior leave. However, I figured I'm leaving myself a floating T for the AENS to play through, so it's not like I've thrown away the AENST combo entirely.
>Ayotunde_Adeyeri: KY G13 KY +30 287
>Mina: AEHINST F5 I.H +8 289
#note Thus begins a frustrating series of FOUR consecutive turns in which I saw I had a homeless seven-letter bingo (or more than one) on my rack. Here SHEITAN and STHENIA are unplayable. Quackle favors fishing off AH (at 7E) or just an H to leave the famous SATINE stem. My failure was that ICH doesn't create a bingo lane. AH, in contrast, would have. UGH rookie mistake.
>Ayotunde_Adeyeri: DUY 15F DU.Y +18 305
#note He's right to block the T lane.
>Mina: AENRSTV 5B NAEV. +16 305
#note Now I have a homeless SERVANT / TAVERNS / VERSANT, thanks to my not having created a second bingo lane earlier. Quackle prefers 4C VANT leaving ERS, which is okayish as it creates a V lane and an A lane. Quackle otherwise recommends 4D VET leaving ANRS, which is weaker as it only creates a V lane. I picked my move, which is nowhere among Quackle's top fifteen choices, because it creates three lanes, none of which contain the clunky V.
>Ayotunde_Adeyeri: EISZ 4A SIZE +45 350
#note And again he demonstrates excellent board control. Kill all three of Mina's newly created lanes.
>Mina: EGRSTTU A1 GUT. +15 320
#note A homeless GUTTERS. I played correctly here: Quackle recommends either TUGS or GUTS, both of which create a lane. TUGS is slightly better, I guess because T is an easier floater.
>Ayotunde_Adeyeri: NOS 13L SON +13 363
>Mina: EIMORST 1K MI +22 342
#note Homeless EROTISM / MOISTER / MORTISE / TRISOME. I write on my scoresheet, "gormiest?" but I don't try it because playing a phony in five-point challenge is death. WELL GAHHH IT TURNS OUT TO BE GOOD and would've given me a 74.39% chance of winning the game. Quackle's next most preferred moves are to fish off an I or an O. I guess there's a bingo lane on column B starting with IN, in addition to the G bingo lane at the top. My play is quite decent, scoring significantly more than a one-tile fish, though simming seventh.
>Ayotunde_Adeyeri: AG B2 GA.. +18 381
#note Again he plays very smart board control!! This is so elegant, as it knocks out the G- bingo lane and the IN- bingo lane at the same time.
>Mina: EGORSTU 7L UG +14 356
#note Three tiles left in the bag. But here is where I should not have given up, because Quackle recommends the GORGEOUSSS setup play of 7D UG(H) leaving EORST, setting up for EUGH or SUGH. Now THAT requires some higher-level Nigel-tier thinking, but I salute that. As it stands, I'm only leaving myself some crazy impossible bingo lane on column O.
>Ayotunde_Adeyeri: DESU O12 USED +22 403
>Mina: EEOQRST O7 Q.S +18 374
#note I've drawn the Q and I'm down 47 with only four tiles left on his rack. Isn't it a lost cause? So I'm extremely confused as to why Quackle Championship Player says I have a 100% win percentage if I play N13 (N)O or 7H (T)OE, because if I don't play off the Q now, won't he just block the Q spot on his next turn by playing O7 O(I), leaving me Q-stuck? I must be Quackling incorrectly?
>Ayotunde_Adeyeri: CIIO 15M CI. +6 409
>Mina: EEORT F10 .OE +6 380
#note Yeah, my coffin is well and truly nailed. Still, there would have been room for stylishness, as Quackle found C3 T(ZA)R for 32 and I did not. That would have cut the spread. Lesson: keep looking, even from the depths of despair.
>Ayotunde_Adeyeri: IO I6 .I. +9 418
#note I was expecting him to play his IO and go out, but instead he played only one tile, an I, and claimed he was out. Instead of realizing that he'd left a tile in the bag, I concluded that I must've mistracked, when in fact I very rarely mistrack, and accepted a final score of 424-380. As we squared off the tiles we then found the O that he'd mistakenly left in the bag. Lesson: be assertive, don't doubt yourself!!
