>Puneet: OPZ 8G POZ +28 28
>Chris: EEGLNNU 7F GUN +12 12
#note Scored as 9, then 11, then 12. It's the final game and we're mentally exhausted.
>Puneet: GHO 9H HOG +26 54
>Chris: EEELNOX 10I LONE +23 35
>Puneet: ?ACILTT L4 LATTIC.d +70 124
#note Scored as 72.
>Chris: AEEERSX 6J RE.AX +30 65
#note 11G AXSEE(d) is nice, but this way I keep the S for hooking (ZOL)S.
>Puneet: KNU 5I KUN. +22 146
>Chris: EEHNRST M8 THRENES +97 162
>Chris: AEIMNSW (challenge) +5 167
>Puneet: ?DEILOR 14H iDOLI.ER +70 216
>Chris: AEIMNSW 15C MANWISE +95 262
#note My three highest scoring plays in the tournament came in the last two games.
>Puneet: AJS O12 JA.S +57 273
#note It looks like this one's going to be a nailbiter.
>Chris: AEEEMQT 14B QAT +30 292
>Puneet: FI 15K IF +20 293
>Chris: EEEILM 13C MILE +29 321
#note Now that I'm out of esses, the (ZOL)S hook is a liability. However, if one of us plays on row 12 next turn then the hook will become much less dangerous and I will be in good shape going into the endgame with a small lead on a closed board. Forgot to record my last tile. Could've done MELEE, but E's are good in this type of situation.
>Puneet: ADIR 12A ARID +30 323
>Chris: BDEEIOT N2 DETO. +26 347
#note Quackle slightly prefers 11J BO(dE) or BO(dE)D, eliminating the S hook once and for all.
>Puneet: AYY M1 YAY +31 354
>Chris: BEEIINW O3 WEB +25 372
#note I missed 11J Be(dE)W, but this is almost as good since it prevents high-scoring plays on column O.
>Puneet: UV F5 VU. +9 363
>Chris: EEIINPR 1H PINER. +36 408
>Chris: AAEFGIU (challenge) +5 413
#note It's dangerous to open the board in this position, but I need to score points since (ZOL)S is still open. I might also be able to bingo myself, especially since IE has good synergy with the open R.
>Puneet: BDO 11J BO..D +24 387
#note I breath a slight sigh of relief since the S must still be in the bag. Now all I have to do is prevent him from bingoing and I should win.
>Chris: AAEFGIU H1 .FUI +10 423
#note The bag is pretty scary so I have to play defense. This wins 67% of games behind 2D FUGIE, and PIG, PUG, and PAGE at H1 which win about 83%. I thought about FUGIE, but I was worried about high-scoring plays at 1A. Fortunately, the tiles worked out in my favor this time around.
>Puneet: CEIOSTV B7 VOICE. +17 404
#note A7 STEVI(A), followed by 4J COL is best.
>Chris: AAEGOR 5C AGA.E +18 441
>Puneet: ST 12J ST +12 416
#note Plays at A8 for 2 more.
>Puneet: (OR) +4 420
#note It's a great feeling to go out on a 6-game winning streak, even if much of it had to do with luck. And even though I didn't finish in the money (or with a positive spread), I gained some rating points and even a class prize.
