#note generally like COWED a bit more. I'm not sure if the S hook is a good thing or not. Probably a bad thing. Maybe WITED cause of that

#note the problem with COWED is now very clear! COWED turns into positions like these, a board with no options but for this big SCOWED hook, and it becomes a race to hit. I am liking WIMP more now - my big issue with it is that F column plays score a lot and are easy to find, but I didn't consider that those plays will block/obstruct SCOWED! Considering that and the superior points/leave of WIMP, I think it might be worth it.

A big thing I need to work on in my early/mid game is thinking more iteratively - what can I expect to happen after each play?

I liked WAWL a lot because it complicates the position when he doesn't have an S, inciting more error. I like everything about WAWL except for the volatility of the board, but it might be a worthwhile tradeoff.

>Jackson: DDEIMPT 12H ..MPED +28 143
#note this is phony, but super hard to challenge. I could definitely play T(HE)MED here, and the 13 row isn't very dangerous cause he has a lot of consonant heavy bingo leaves. I wanted to block the BITTS hook in case he doesn't see SCOWED - I considered (DE)MPT#, but I think he challenges that too often.

>Jackson: DIMRTYY M9 MID.Y +30 173
>dave_: IOP 4C POI +20 157
>Jackson: IORRSTY 2A TOY +24 197
#note considered YIRRS/WAWLS, TOY, OY, 5A RYOTS. YIRRS over RYOTS just for scoring defense, and I liked TOY a bit more than OY cause I have 2 Ts to play through so IRRST is a bit redundant, and the 1a plays are really not dangerous, he could have EF/IF but nothing else remotely dangerous.

#note time for some defense! the S hook on this isn't very dangerous, and this kills the M and N column
>dave_: AJNOSUU -AJN +0 201
>Jackson: EGIJQSX H14 EX +29 317
#note Killing another lane, it is not easy to end with X. Might just be worth it to play SEX/SIGNORE, the X might be more dangerous than the T just cause of miracle bingoes. I generally like keeping the S in this scenario because I can counter setups he'll make.
