#player2 Noah_Walton Noah Walton
>Alec_Sjöholm: OOR 8G ROO +6 6
#note This felt like the most interesting game of the tournament. And I had some interesting games!
>Noah_Walton: DEEHORS 7F RESHOED +80 80
#note Gut gut gut. Go with your gut! (I probably even spent too long on this play. Self: look for crucial considerations, not for small stuff, because you probably can't figure out the small stuff.)
>Alec_Sjöholm: AENRSSU L7 .ANSEURS +70 76
>Noah_Walton: EEGIITV 10H GIVE. +17 97
#note I missed what is probably the clear play here, VISIT. Just scores too much to be passing it up. I was trying to do a weird blocking play here. Which could make sense when considered alongside the options I saw, but I don't think this is better than VISIT.
>Alec_Sjöholm: CFIR 8K F.RCI +35 111
>Noah_Walton: AEEINTT 14E TAENITE. +62 159
#note When there's a bunch of close options with no clear crucial considerations, I'm pretty much at a loss. That was the case here. Maybe I'm supposed to do TETANISE or TAENITE? TAENITE has higher valuation, yet gives back about the same amount to Alec next turn. But gives me more back next turn? I would've expected the opposite. I guess his most likely plays are underlaps that take away all the best stuff on the bottom of the board! Blah.
>Alec_Sjöholm: EHITT 15D TITHE +42 153
>Noah_Walton: ABBFGOW 13G FOB +38 197
>Alec_Sjöholm: AENQU 9C QUEAN +29 182
>Noah_Walton: ABGINTW J6 W. +13 210
#note What do you do here? Pretty interesting. I considered CAWING, WO, BRAW, and some other stuff like ANTIBUG, BINT, WIN on the left side. I realized ANTIBUG was terrible after a little while. CAWING maybe to just try to play really closed? But the leave sucks, and it's not like I just beat Alec on a closed board. Is AW F10 a better fish than this? Probably not, because it's way more hookable. BRAW scores well and keeps a good leave but man, LLLLNN seemed pretty bad to give back. This play felt fairly entropic. If I don't hit, I have to do something kind of weak, I guess. What do others think?
>Alec_Sjöholm: AEILRSV N8 .AVILERS +92 274
>Noah_Walton: ABGIKNT E8 B.AK +20 230
#note I didn't see KITBAG. But this keeps TING for the TWO hook! I could maybe do BATIK / TWO? Can't really do TSK.
>Alec_Sjöholm: AEEOZ 6B ZOEAE +40 314
>Noah_Walton: ?ADGINT 5H DATINGs +72 302
#note My reasoning here was: after DAwTING etc., his overlapping plays are generally better scoring and give back better comebacks. The D he gets decent plays to, but they open me good bingo lanes. Also, I guess I don't need a bingo to win, which might change this. This still looks fine to me.
>Alec_Sjöholm: MX 10D M.X +57 371
>Noah_Walton: ?LMOOPT 4C cOMPLOT +78 380
>Alec_Sjöholm: ALW - +0 371
#note I catch a huge break as Alec challenges.
>Noah_Walton: ACDENRU 3H CUR +16 396
#note And promptly make a huge mistake! I chickened out of UNCARED, which is new to OSPD5. Choosing between other options might be interesting, and I kind of doubt this is second best, just because I didn't think about it very carefully and because there are so many alternatives, but it's harder to care when there's a clear best play already available. I do think he's less likely to have a Y here -- strong BEAKY plays make challenging cOMPLOT less enticing, because they score on a board that doesn't seem that good for scoring.
>Alec_Sjöholm: ALW 7A LAW +30 401
>Noah_Walton: ADEGINO 8A AG +28 424
#note Played this pretty quick, didn't have much time. LOADING wins aroudn 80% of the time per Champ, not sure how accurate that is. Is that trustable? not sure. I kind of liked this because it saved DOE. Should I do DOE first though? Is this bad? A good thing about LOADING is that it blocks lots of good BEAKY plays. And those look like the only really good plays in the pool, so I wouldn't be too surprised by LOADING being best. I could also play LEADING or LADING to save potential MOA plays, but the only really good ones I draw into are POI and DOE.
>Alec_Sjöholm: DILY 12C IDYL +30 431
>Noah_Walton: DEINOPY N1 PYIN. +18 442
#note This is 10 worse than the best play that Champ finds, which is simply DYNE 13A. Not sure why I thought playing up here was so great.
>Alec_Sjöholm: IJNU K1 JUN +16 447
>Noah_Walton: DEO 5D DOE +28 470
