>JD: EFGQRUV -FGQUV +0 0
#note it was tempting to keep the QU. ultimately, it's pretty close between keeping EQRU and ER, with the former coming out a little better. The thing that's interesting to me is how much better EQRU is as a leave than EQU. I typically think of QU being very vowel-heavy, but keeping EQRU is a good 6-7 points better than keeping EQU.
>Evans: BLOT 8F BLOT +12 12
>JD: EEEGRRS I4 GREE.ERS +61 61
#note Q slightly prefers REGREETS, I think because it doesn't expose the S.
>Evans: AATW H1 TAWA +28 40
>JD: AEILRSW H8 .W +10 71
#note wow, I really don't have a bingo here. Q thinks I misjudged this one a little bit, preferring AW at G3 or LAW.by a solid 3 points. EILRS still bingos 80% of the time next turn.

>Evans: EFNU 3C ENUF +23 214
>JD: ABDEJLP L2 JAP +33 235
#note figured that JADE, even at 14 extra points, would give it all back with the bad leave and easy points for evans. I also save the B for cheap big points at N2 if he plays at the top-right. it's pretty even on the sim.
>Evans: ADNO M1 DONA +28 242
>JD: BDEELOO N1 OBOLE. +52 287
#note he had ODA at M2 in the same spot, but I suspect he was trying to make it harder for me to sting him on column N.
>Evans: DEN O1 DEN +44 286
>JD: DEIINOY 11E YONI. +16 303
#note this is week - in a tight game, need to keep my foot on the gas and play YIP at G4 keeping a much stronger leave and keeping row 11 open. his rack is basically random after his last play. or I can score 10 more playing KINDY at D1, either is a major upgrade.
>Evans: MUX 12D MUX +38 324
#note the only positive of this play was that he read YONIS as a Z setup and blocked.
>JD: ADEIITT 4A DITA +20 323
#note Q likes TEIID at L9, which saves an A for the nice hot spot at 10F (AYU)
>Evans: ARV 10D RAV +41 365
>JD: ACEGITU A4 .UGITE +24 347
#note I'm now the underdog, need to reach for the blank and open things up
>Evans: CEIR 8K .CIER +30 395
>JD: ?ACDILN M8 .NDICiAL +72 419
#note evans had done a good job pushing me on time all game, and it paid off here - I didn't have time to find INCUDAL, which I spotted right after the game, and played this subpar play instead. Q also likes fishing with something like LA at J9, but I'm only 70% to draw a bingo after, and he'll block some fraction of the time, so I think the right call is pulling the trigger on INCUDAL.
>Evans: EIMOQUZ 14J UMI.Q +36 431
#note the hilarious thing is that I would've lost after INCUDAL anyway because Evans was going to try COMIQUE at L8 if he needed to, which would've been enough to win by a couple of points! this is a strong play, but after the game I pointed out to him that QUAI at 14K would've garnered additional spread because MOZE is effectively unblockable.
>JD: AEHO 2A OH +22 441
>Evans: EOZ 8A .OZE +14 445
#note MOZE for 2 more. Evans said something after this game that really stuck with me - after I'd said that he was lucky I didn't have time to find INCUDAL, he pointed out that playing fast was a skill, and he had induced a mistake by applying consistent time pressure throughout the game. He's completely right, and it was a takeaway that stuck with me throughout the tournament and Niagara Falls - the skill I most need to develop is playing consistently with pace, else I will be at a perpetual disadvantage in pre-endgames and endgames.
