#note I took about six minutes on this turn. I obviously cannot empty the bag. I lose to a bingo on Column O (EVECTION/ERECTION is in the pool) so I have to play off one tile to leave one in the bag. The unseen pool is ACEINOTU?. If I were a betting woman, I'l bet Paul has ACEINT? on his rack. Something very close to it. This means only vowels are in the bag. Mostly likely OU. I decided to fish off an E, but then I took some time to go through all vowels to see what I can I can counter-bingo with. AABENRS, nothing. ABEENRS - nothing or I would bingo on this turn. ABEINRS - BARNIES* (I thought BARNIES was good at the time. I'm so happy an I wasn't in the bag.) ABENORS - BORANES; ABENRSU - UNBEARS. If OU is in the bag, I draw bingos to play on row 13. Woohoo! I'm gonna fish off an E. I almost played TOTE but played TE for two reasons. 1) If he doesn't bingo on column O but at 13H instead, I can still bingo out by hooking my S and 2) If he doesn't bingo on column O then I'm just giving him more points with TOTE if he bingos on the left hand side.

#note Paul's play was my second favorite of the tourney (Favorite was Scott Appel's ICTIc). Of course Paul saw ERECTION. I asked him why he didn't play it but I already knew the answer. I enjoy talking to old-school experts and wanted to hear it straight from his mouth. He didn't play it because there's no bingos to the E for me, but I'm threatening to bingo out with UNBEARS. He cannot win this game even with ERECTION, but playing in my only bingo lane is the best way to cut spread. With ERECTION, Paul loses by 80 had I drawn the U and not the A.
