>Jim_Burlant: ADFFRSS 8H DRAFF +32 32
#note Or DRAFFS. I wouldn't object to burning one of the duplicate S's if it made the difference between playing a 4 for 20 points and a 5 for 30. That situation doesn't automatically telegraph my other S. But playing DRAFFS for 34 would be too much of a giveaway, IMO. The second S can wait.
>Matt_Graham: LOO K8 .OOL +14 14
>Jim_Burlant: ASSSTUW J10 WAS +29 61
#note Oof. Hard to believe there's a bingo in this mess of letters, but there is: SAWDUSTS H5 scores 63. This is best of the rest if you whiff on the bingo.
>Matt_Graham: EKU 12G UKE. +13 27
>Jim_Burlant: AHSSTUX 13G SAX +45 106
#note Couldn't decide whether TAX or SAX was correct. I didn't want to telegraph another S, but my whiff on the last turn illustrates one concession I have to make that Quackle does not: the duplicated S's will take the rack into a probability range I'm not sure to hit. TAX is slightly better in the sim. Not sure I would play SAX again if I had this turn to do over.
>Matt_Graham: EINNOST M2 INTONES +79 106
>Jim_Burlant: ?HNSTUV 11E HUN +15 121
#note Right idea, wrong execution. I didn't like row 4 HUNT, Never saw F10 HUN, and after a while, felt that if nothing else, I should just set up the S hook since I still have ST? F10 HUN should have been the play.
>Matt_Graham: EGHIW 4H WEIGH. +34 140
>Jim_Burlant: ?ACISTV 2H CAVIT.eS +90 211
#note Atoning for last turn's mistake. This is my best bingo.
>Matt_Graham: BEEGI 12A BEIGE +27 167
>Jim_Burlant: BEINOTZ A12 .IZE +45 256
#note ZINEB A8 is slightly better. I saw ZIBET and never thought of ZINEB.
>Matt_Graham: ADIY 14A .AIDY +36 203
>Jim_Burlant: BEMNORT O2 .ORBENT +30 286
#note With no O for TROMBONE, I felt the play was to to address the most serious threat, which meant taking out the O colum. Quackle disagrees, feeling that I should score 5 more with ENTOMB on row 15. I have enough of a lead that if he hits on row 15, I'm still in the game; if he hits for 140 down the O colum, that's another story. I'm fine with this.
>Matt_Graham: ?AELPTT 3C TaPETAL +82 285
#note Best bingo for Matt, but he's still only 33% to in in a short sim.
>Jim_Burlant: ACEEMMT 15E ACME +29 315
#note Now it's time to deal with row 15, or so went my thinking. The duck feels I should play KAME H12 or 4D MEM. This is a reasonable choice, but with the northwest open, I should probably still consider building another bingo rack.
>Matt_Graham: LLUU 2B LULU +15 300
>Jim_Burlant: DDEGIMT 1A GEM +25 340
#note Less worried about rack building than about defending hot spots. I wanted to make sure he couldn't hit me with RAJ 1A. The DDIT leave isn't ideal, but (a) no D's are unseen and (b) the pool has lots of vowels. I'm fine with this.
>Matt_Graham: EINRY L8 .INERY +35 335
#note Nice play!
>Jim_Burlant: ADDINRT 10B DRAT +15 355
#note Was getting low on time (down under 2-1/2 minutes by now) and wanted to make sure I didn't create easy Q or J spots for him. Best would hav ebeen the slick DALE/DEX 11I, so as to minimize exposure to the pool.
>Matt_Graham: AJOOP 7D POOJA +25 360
>Jim_Burlant: DEIINOV 8A DIVINE +42 397
>Matt_Graham: OQRR K1 Q. +11 371
>Jim_Burlant: O 13L .O +10 407
>Jim_Burlant: (ORR) +6 413
