>Jim_Burlant: ?AEEFMR 8D FREEMAn +80 80
#note Great start! That said, FERMAtE 8D is a little better due to vowel placement issues, but this is a minor nit that never really factored into the game.
>Karl_Higby: EFIRRST F2 FERRIT.S +71 71
#note Best bingo for Karl.
>Jim_Burlant: BDOPUUZ 7I PUDU +18 98
#note Yuck! It took forever to find this just because I had such a hard time processing all the clunk. And it was even more time burned when I tried to find a better play that didn't create the hot spot at 8L. If the duck is to be believed, this is best. UPBOUND J3 and J6 PONZU (neither of which I saw) are also good choices. 55.5% to win, but not for long.
>Karl_Higby: ?BEIIOS 4A BOISe.IE +76 147
#note Best bingo for Karl is BRIOnIES 5B 86.
>Jim_Burlant: BCGILOZ H1 BIZ. +45 143
>Karl_Higby: EEGNSTW 6A SWEET.NG +70 217
#note Only bingo for Karl. He's 79% to win in a short sim.
>Jim_Burlant: ACEGILO A6 .OCAGE +27 170
#note A bit of a miss - BOSCAGE A4 scores 36. While it does have vowel placement issues by slotting the E at 10A, there's already the spot at 8L, so BOSCAGE doesn't create new danger. BOSCAGE (which I never recognized during the game) should have been the play.
>Karl_Higby: AEMNQ L3 MANQ.E +36 253
>Jim_Burlant: EILLOOT D8 .OLIO +16 186
#note Interestingly, Championship Player and the Sim are conflicted. The sim wants me to play TELOI M2 for 35. Championship Player indicates that my choice of FOLIO is best. Truth be told, if I had looked for TELOI and found it, I'd have played it. This is bleak no matter how you slice it, though: 9.6% to win if Championship Player is to be believed.
>Karl_Higby: ADG C9 DAG +17 270
>Jim_Burlant: ACEHKLT C3 H.K. +22 208
#note I saw LATCHKEY but wasn't sure it was even good (thought it was 2 words) and there's no S or I to use for an 8, so no bingoes play. This is too fishy - THACK E11 scores 41 and has to be best. That said, this gives up some equity but not much in the way of winning chances: THACK wins 13.1%, this is the runner up and it wins roughly 0.6% less often.
>Karl_Higby: ATV M2 VAT +22 292
>Jim_Burlant: AACELTY 9H AY +25 233
#note Or SLAY 9F. Either is as good as the other.
>Karl_Higby: J J6 J.. +25 317
>Jim_Burlant: ACEILTT M8 TACTILE +72 305
#note The duck thinks I need maximum volatility, suggesting that LATTICE is better. I dunno - his next play illustrates the danger of doing that. Regardless, I'm a hair over 23% to win...but not for long.
>Karl_Higby: AEHLRST 13A HARSLET +81 398
#note Best bingo for Karl. He's 97% to win. The fat lady ain't singing just yet...but she is warming up.
>Jim_Burlant: DEINOXY 14E OX +52 357
#note Spread saver, but whatever. Too little, too late. Q says I should play 14A OX; I'm guessing that it thinks my only chance is to gamble Karl doesn't have the case E so I can play DENY for 67 on the next turn? I have a hard time believing Karl doesn't find some way to block the setup if I try OX 14A.
>Karl_Higby: PU A13 .UP +24 422
>Jim_Burlant: DEINNNY 11C ..NNY +18 375
#note Losing spread in an unwinnable game. NYLON E11 scores 29 instead of this play's 18.
>Karl_Higby: IILV 13J VIL.I +8 430
>Jim_Burlant: DDEINOW E1 WID. +15 390
#note I cannot reconstruct the game from this point. He fails to block my impending ENDOW 1A, he plays something for 22, I play ENDOW, he goes out. Final score 466 - 420, Karl's win. I left some points on the table, but I don't think it would have really mattered. Very little chance in this one.
