#player2 Fidelis Fidelis
>Will: ADEHIIN 8D HAINED +28 28
#note I wonder if I should've played shorter with just HI or something. Seems like a coin flip.
>Fidelis: OU 7C OU +8 8
>Will: EEEIOTY 9F OYE +23 51
#note Close with TYEE in the same spot for 6 more points, which Quackle slightly prefers. Nice to keep a consonant, though.
>Fidelis: AELNOST B1 TOLANES +71 79
>Will: ?EEIMPT 7H sEPTIME +70 121
#note I saw EPITHEMA# while searching but spaced on the SOUM# hook/spot. A1 ITEM is quite a bit better anyway.
>Fidelis: EGNRTTU L2 UTTER.NG +70 149
>Will: ?AIMOOX 1H AXIOM +66 187
>Fidelis: BEINOZ N1 EBONIZ. +76 225
>Will: ?AEIIOW O1 AI +16 203
#note Quackle thinks I dramatically overestimated the importance of blocking the O1 scoring spot here. Can't argue with the numbers - I get literally one or two points of defensive benefit from AI at a cost of a massive amount of equity. I also considered C1 IWI# and K4 AWETO#, which both crush AI.
>Fidelis: AF O5 FA +21 246
>Will: ?EILNOW 5A s.OWLINE +70 273
#note Preferred to the 10A bingos because the board post-SNOWLINE# felt like a great one to be up tempo on.
>Fidelis: GHW F3 WH.G +15 261
>Will: CDIIKRS 8L .IDI +39 312
>Fidelis: EF 2J FE. +29 290
>Will: CEKRRSU 1A S.UCK +42 354
#note Incredibly painful to believe for a second that I had SEERSUCKER available, and then realize it was one tile too long for the board. With three more Rs to draw, STRUCK is definitely superior to STUCK.
>Fidelis: QRRRR -QRRRR +0 290
>Will: DEIRRSU K5 RU. +12 366
#note Amazingly, I don't think I considered pluralizing MUTTERINGS# at any point. At this score it's probably well worth letting it fly even without perfect confidence in its validity, given that I auto-win if it's good. I saw DRUSIER# on my rack, so it's especially baffling that giving it a try didn't occur to me.
>Fidelis: OV D3 VO. +18 308
>Will: ACDEIRS C3 AD. +24 390
>Fidelis: DR 3L .R.D +14 322
>Will: CEILRSV -CV +0 390
#note Obviously, plays with the big hook are best. Disregarding those plays, I was just hoping to better handle the Q if I draw it, since this board is becoming really bad for it.
>Fidelis: AY 4F .AY +24 346
>Will: EGILRST 9J TE.G +16 406
#note Add the equity from 10I GRISTLE/GLISTER to the pile. I chose TEGG over IGG to keep the I.
>Fidelis: AQT 10I QAT +20 366
>Will: ILLNRRS O8 .LL +3 409
#note There's the Q - a relief. I have the case I, so I'm feeling good at this point, but I'm not accomplishing anything with this move. Fidelis can easily still bingo with an -SE bingo at 10A, so I should probably try to address that spot. 10B NIRLS looks pretty good. With TAJ available, the J shouldn't be a disaster to draw, and NIRLS prevents fishing plays like J9 TAV that can actually lose me the game (a fish for something like CAPRESE 10A and RESPACE 12H is impossible to block).
>Fidelis: AEPV 11J PAVE +29 395
#note Whew, at least it's not TAV.
>Will: IJNORRS 10B JOINS +35 444
#note I had less than one minute to something like 19 for Fidelis. N11 ROJIS is by far best, since he can't block both NOR and RIN afterwards. My move gives him an out.
>Fidelis: BCERS N11 RECS +22 417
>Will: RR H3 R.. +6 450
>Fidelis: B C9 B. +7 424
#note This game was a bit of a train wreck, but we move on.
>Fidelis: (R) +2 426
