>Zach: AAB 8F ABA +10 10
#note My "stolen game" of the tournament.
>Avery: EEHIORT 9F HOE +19 19
>Zach: AMP 7F PAM +27 37
>Avery: AAAEIRT -AAA +0 19
#note Not wanting to play RAIA right away.
>Zach: DDSU E4 DUDS +20 57
>Avery: ADEFIRT 4D A.RIFT +28 47
>Zach: NV G3 V.N +10 67
>Avery: DEHIIKX I2 KI.H +12 59
#note Tanked here and couldn't find anything great. I imagined he was holding well after VIN (likely has an S), so I didn't want to play KID. I opted for this to set up EX/KITHE if it wasn't blocked.
>Zach: EEINRST J5 ENTIRES +66 133
>Avery: DEINPUX K5 XU +46 105
#note Chosen over PIX to make a new bingo lane. I don't have anything to put at L6 besides my N, but it could come in handy later.
>Zach: CCGGILY 3B ICY +21 154
#note I think he said this was his rack.
>Avery: DEINPQW B2 Q. +22 127
>Zach: CGGGLOZ - +0 154
#note Exchange 6
>Avery: ADEINPW 11F WIDE.PAN +78 205
#note I knew this wasn't good, but I have to try something. Not even held, thankfully.
>Zach: BDENRSU N5 BURDENS +79 233
>Zach: BDENRSU -- -79 154
#note I couldn't help but feel a little bad here. I hate phonying intentionally, but it's just part of the game.
>Avery: AELLORT 12A REALLOT +73 278
>Zach: BDENRSU D8 BUND.ERS +65 219
>Avery: AFGMNSV 15A FAG. +24 302
#note With both blanks unseen, blocking this is a priority. I'm already getting kind of low on time after KITH.
>Zach: OO A12 .OO. +7 226
#note I thought for sure he had at least one blank after this.
>Avery: ELMNSTV L8 VEN.L +24 326
#note Getting worried about an impending bingo now, so I'm just trying to block what I can.
>Zach: CEI 8L .ICE +27 253
>Avery: EMOOSTU O7 M.OU +6 332
#note I think I have like 7 minutes left at this point since I spent forever on my KITH rack, and I revert back into my paranoid bingo defense style. I don't mind it as much here, since he could easily slam column O for 100+, whereas after this, he's basically committed to bingoing for 60. Definitely not the right play, but I'm not too hard on myself for this one.
>Zach: AENOORT 14D .ATOONER +62 315
>Avery: EGIORST H13 G.O +12 344
>Zach: Y 13C Y. +20 335
>Avery: EEILRST 3G .E.L +12 356
#note I have nowhere near enough time to figure this preendgame out. Ultimately, my hope is that if he has both blanks, he'll bingo and stick himself with the J and/or the Z. In hindsight, I think the best play is probably something dumping the L so that I can play RESIZE or EEJIT on row 15 if I draw the J or the Z. If he decides to bingo, he'll be stuck. I think I got worried about him fishing again and leaving one in the bag, but he could just as easily do that after this play. No idea what's optimal here, but I definitely let my head get to me on this turn.
>Zach: ??AEGIT B5 EmIGrAT. +59 394
#note There's only one bingo here that scores above 70. What would you play here? I asked Mack, and he determined that this wins 29/36 times, and loses only if and only if he draws JI, JR, JS, JZ and ZI. Even WZ is a win since he gives himself 10A ZA and 7A WIZ. The 70 point bingo apparently also wins 29/36, but with different draws. Super complicated position!
>Avery: EIIRSTW 10B .I. +3 359
#note I managed to avoid both the J and the Z. Wow. This is best, at +91. Zach won the "Bad Beats" award (also known as the Cesar prize) for this endgame.
>Zach: JZ - +0 394
>Avery: EIRSTW C1 TI. +16 375
#note Didn't see HEXER as a possibility. I think I had less than a minute by now anyway though.
>Zach: JZ - +0 394
