#player1 Tim Tim
#player2 jvc jvc
>Tim: CEFIRR 8D FERRIC +30 30
#note At this point in the tournament I'm 16-0 with Tim at 11-5 and Keller at 9-7, so I'm guaranteed second and the only way I can lose is if Tim beats me five times in a row. It's unlikely but so was all of this.
>jvc: AJOQRSZ H7 J.Z +19 19
#note This rack left me clueless, I thought that keeping 2 of 3 power tiles would be too much negative equity, but 7C JOR looks fine.
>Tim: AOT I6 TA.O +30 60
>jvc: ?AHOQRS J9 OH +25 44
>Tim: ?AABITV K7 BATAVIa +90 150
>Tim: EEGLT (challenge) +5 155
#note Tim doing what Tim does best.
>jvc: ?AEQRSW 12J Q.S +24 68
#note 8K (A)QuAE, yikes. I wasn't even looking at that.
>Tim: EEGLT L4 GLEET +21 176
>jvc: ?ABEERW 14E BEWAREs +76 144
>Tim: EILOSX 15C ISOLEX +80 256
>Tim: ADEIN (challenge) +5 261
#note Normally I would've played
>jvc: EKNNOSY 10J ..NKY +23 167
#note Normally, I would play M5 ONY, but at this point I really need to bingo or else I'm toast.
>Tim: ADEIN M3 DIANE +27 288
>jvc: EEGNOST F5 EST.OGEN +65 232
>Tim: ACIN D8 .INCA +20 308
>jvc: EHOPRUU E10 UH +30 262
>Tim: IM E5 MI +18 326
>jvc: EMOOPRU C11 OM +17 279
#note This was the start of a bunch of misguided fishes that ultimately put a win from unlikely to impossible. I was thinking that ROCHE was a word when I played this.
>Tim: EOR 13G ORE +25 351
>jvc: EFOPRUY 11M YUP +22 301
#note Still just fishing for a bingo ending in R. Meanwhile Tim, who was never confused about the hooks for OCHE, is just playing equity and keeping the board closed, knowing that there are no lines to hit.
>Tim: DSUU O11 .UDUS +27 378
>jvc: DEFINOR 7K ...F +9 310
#note Aside from ignoring massive column N plays, I still think ROCHE is a word, and proceed to fish off the F, which is a great fish if ROCHE is a word, but it's not. At this point Tim was really confused about what I was doing. He figured that I must've been confused about the hooks for OCHE.
>Tim: ILL 15L ILL. +5 383
>jvc: ADEINOR 9C A. +3 313
#note It is at this point when I think I've hit a massive play that I realize the the hooks are BL/OCHE/RS and that ROCHE is not a word. To make it worse, I can't even fish for the Ls because Tim just played both of them off. At this point the game is completely lost as I attempt an even more desparate fish that never works.
>Tim: W 9B W.. +6 389
>jvc: ADEINOR 6I .I +4 317
#note Still not wanting to give up, I fish off the I in the false hope of hitting TEARDO(W)N.
>Tim: GO 10A GO +12 401
#note Which Tim proceeds to quickly kill.
>jvc: ADENORR E4 A.. +5 322
#note "Play desparately, lose desparately" - Dad
>Tim: ADT D4 TAD +21 422
>jvc: DENOPRR C1 ROPED +26 348
>Tim: ETV 1A VE.T +24 446
>jvc: NR 4L ..RN +6 354
#note Well, that was ridiculous, someone had to end it. I'm glad it was Tim.
>jvc: (IN) +4 358
