Player 1
#player1 Jack_Overby Jack Overby
#player2 Peter_Schwartzman Peter Schwartzman
>Jack_Overby: LMOORTY 8G MOLY +18 18
#note All racks are complete, for both sides. All commentary is courtesy of DJ Overbeatz.

For Day 1, Peter donned a technicolor dream coat of sorts, a purple Denver Nuggets jersey with rainbow lettering. I should've known I was cooked.

The five-letterers (MOORY, ROOTY) sim a bit better, but he keeps a good leave here and leaves me nothing, while scoring comparably.
>Peter_Schwartzman: INNQTUV 9E QUIN +21 21
#note VINY/VIN sim best. Makes sense- they give little back and maintain NQTU, which has scoring potential. NTV on this board ain't worth nuthin.
>Jack_Overby: EIIORST 10D OI +13 31
#note Papa's gone fishing! This sims best, though I kinda like the wild man E9 QI 11.
>Peter_Schwartzman: ALNNTTV D10 .VAL +14 35
#note I wanted to block the QI hook, but F9 ULVA 14 is a better way to do so. Regardless, Q favors exchanging. NNTT is pretty putrid.
>Jack_Overby: AEIRRST H1 SERRATI.. +80 111
#note Very nice, Mr. Schwartzman! K5 TARSIER/ARTSIER utilizing the eminently missable MOLY/S hook would have scored 8 more, but natural 9s are worth at least 10 Big Mo Points.
>Peter_Schwartzman: ELNNTTT 5G L.TENT +12 47
#note Fine, but perhaps LATTEN instead, to avoid the X hotspot. Regardless, things are already bleak, and wouldn't be unbleakifying anytime soon...
>Jack_Overby: EGINOOS 2B OOGENI.S +72 183
#note 1A ISOGONES is 83, but can't go wrong with a natural 5V8.
>Peter_Schwartzman: AEMNTWW C1 W.W +18 65
>Jack_Overby: ??DLNRT 12D .NTLeReD +57 240
#note Vowels? We don't need no stinkin vowels! Probably the lowest scoring scoring bingo I'll ever see (he had ARDeNTLy for 58 big ones).
>Peter_Schwartzman: AAAEMNT 6H .AME +26 91
#note Not sure why I was so determined to block that E spot. 6H TAM 23 or 11I AMA 21 look better, for far superior bingo chances. Everything's under 0.5%, though.
>Jack_Overby: ABHOORV H11 B.VOR +27 267
#note The 11H plays (HOBO/BOHO) sim a bit better. With this massive blunder, Peter's winning chances plunge from 99.9%... to 99.6%! ;-)
>Peter_Schwartzman: AANORRT 15A NARRATO. +77 168
#note A pride salvager. Thanks for that third R, Pete!
>Jack_Overby: AAEHJOY J10 JO.Y +29 296
#note 11H BOHEA 32 sims best, but really, it don't matter. JOEY at least blocks rows 13/14.
>Peter_Schwartzman: ACDEEEZ 4L ACED +22 190
#note Thus begins the phase of the game where I foolishly hold onto the Z, in hopes of some mega Z/OOGENIES bingo. This phase would last the rest of the game. D3 GEEZ 33 looks oodles better, as it nicely sets up E4 DACE for 39.
>Jack_Overby: AAEEGHK O1 KHE.A +39 335
#note Best by several miles. Pretty much a clincher.
>Peter_Schwartzman: EEEEIPZ 1L PEE. +13 203
#note Again, hoping to stumble into a monster. Just play GEEZ and call it a day.
>Jack_Overby: AEGITUX F12 .EX. +27 362
#note Basically any non-phony is 99.9% at this point.
>Peter_Schwartzman: EEHINUZ 10J .EHU +14 217
#note At least this one kind of made sense. Lo and behold, I got my miracle...
>Jack_Overby: AFGISTU N10 STAIG +33 395
#note ...but Peter blocks it...
>Peter_Schwartzman: DEFGINZ - +0 217
#note And I challenged. Quite defuzing. To be fair, I don't think I'd ever seen STAIG before. I only know my 2s, 7s and 8s.
>Jack_Overby: FIIIOSU -IIOU +0 395
#note When I originally typed in this exchange, without knowing his racks, I guessed "Ex. IIUU". Pretty darn close!

Surprising that this sims better than O13 FOU 26. IIIS is pretty unpalatable.
>Peter_Schwartzman: DEFGINZ O13 FID +29 246
#note For heaven's sake, just play FIZ...
>Jack_Overby: ACDEFIS 14B FA +22 417
>Peter_Schwartzman: EGINPUZ A2 ZING +34 280
#note Uncle! Even this sucks. ZIG/ZIP/ZEP are much better.
>Jack_Overby: BCDEIIS 5A .IBED +18 435
#note Somehow, K10 EIDE for 19 is best. But 8G MOLYBDIC 20 is righteous!
>Peter_Schwartzman: EOPUU 4D PO +19 299
#note Best.
>Jack_Overby: CIS 14J SIC +23 458
#note Best.
>Jack_Overby: (EUU) +6 464
#note One of only two games below 350. Peter was 0-5 up to this point, but he made up for his rough start with aplomb this round. 'Twas an honor to give you your first win of the tourney, Peter!
