#player1 Jack_Overby Jack Overby
#player2 Andrew_Solomon Andrew Solomon
>Jack_Overby: DILOORT H7 TOROID +18 18
#note Best, probably.
>Andrew_Solomon: AEGNSZ 11E AGN.ZES +68 68
#note Ow.
>Jack_Overby: AADEIJL J9 AJ.E +27 45
#note Not bad, but I kind of like 10B JAIL 29 or 12C AJI 22, which seem more likely to bingo, albeit at the cost of defense.
>Andrew_Solomon: EEEFLST 7D FLEE.EST +63 131
#note Clearly the better placement.
>Jack_Overby: AADEIIL 8K AALII +20 65
#note 8A ILIA 21 seems best, as it scores a extra point and leaves decent floaters for ADE.
>Andrew_Solomon: ?AAIIII -AAIIII +0 131
>Jack_Overby: DDENOTY 12A TODDY +27 92
#note 12A TODDY 27 and M3 NOTEDLY 34 are a bit better. Not a big fan of NOTEDLY; it keeps a random leave, and if Andrew plays at L4, the board is awfully closed all of a sudden.
>Andrew_Solomon: ?ABEKRT B7 BREAK.uT +80 211
#note Co-best bingo, neck and neck with N2 TIEBReAK 88.
>Jack_Overby: EHNNNOR J2 HERON. +19 111
#note Things are looking bleak. At least I open lanes on multiple areas of the board, but this isn't great, as it keeps a poor leave and is very easily shut down.
>Andrew_Solomon: ?IINNSW 3G WIS.NINg +80 291
>Andrew_Solomon: ?IINNSW -- -80 211
#note Lucky that Andrew didn't play any of his valid bingos, the best of which are at 3G: WINESkIN 80 and SINEWINg 74. I likely would have challenged both.
>Jack_Overby: INNOTUW A8 OWN +31 142
#note What to do? I can block everything with a play like G3 TWINE, but that scores nothing and leaves me with terrible tiles. The best play looks to be I3 WON 23. It blocks his best bingos and forces him to play eNTWINES or WhINNIES for low 60s. Seems right.
>Andrew_Solomon: ?IINNSW F1 WhINNI.S +62 273
#note Luckily for me, Andrew played one of his lesser bingos.
>Jack_Overby: FINRTUU 1D UN.IT +27 169
#note Perhaps D4 RUFF 20 is better, but I wanted to score and take away cheap row 1 points. My chances are under 1% regardless. I need a miracle.
>Andrew_Solomon: ELPUY 4H PU.ELY +28 301
#note Nice way to score and clog up lanes.
>Jack_Overby: AFPQRTU 3B FAQU.R +38 207
#note Oof, bad miss, as D4 QUAFF 48, which I saw moments after hitting my clock, scores 10 more and keeps a more bingo-prone leave (PRT > PT), while denying him easy QI overlaps.
>Andrew_Solomon: CM M3 M.C +20 321
>Jack_Overby: AAMPRTU 10D AMA +20 227
#note Not sure why I didn't go with D3 QUA 24. AMPRT is very bingo-friendly if I draw an E, and who knows, I could hit 15B STAMPER for 100! At this phase, it likely didn't matter, but I missed another chance to give myself a halfway plausible path to victory.
>Andrew_Solomon: BI 4C BI +34 355
#note Well deserved.
>Jack_Overby: CLPRTUX 5I P.X +46 273
#note Clearly best.
>Andrew_Solomon: HR 3I H.R +32 387
#note Dang.
>Jack_Overby: CLOORTU 2A COL +25 298
#note Apparently O3 COULOIR 10 wins 0.6% of the time, compared to 0.1% for this. Sure.
>Andrew_Solomon: GOV M7 V.OG +13 400
#note Not sure what else he had, but N7 VIG looks a tad better, to fully shut down M through O columns.
>Jack_Overby: DEEORTU N10 OUTED +21 319
#note Once again, I had less than a minute, but I missed a cool chance to give myself a shot at an unblockable outbingo. There's nothing Andrew could have in the pool, so I don't have to worry about him bingoing. If I play 14C TE 2, I have a 1/8 shot at drawing an S, which gives me bingos on row 15 (DETOURS/etc.) and column O (OUTRIDES/OUTSIDER). As it turned out, Andrew had the S, but it would definitely have been worth a shot, to cut some spread.
>Andrew_Solomon: AEEGIIS 15B SIEGE +21 421
#note Four off O13 S(E/A)G 17, which block my outplays.
>Jack_Overby: ERV 13L VE.R +14 333
#note Less than 10 seconds left, somehow failed to spot REV at M/O13.
>Jack_Overby: (AI) +4 337
#note Not too much I could have done here. Maybe QUAFF or QUA would have given me a shot, and I should have seen the E fish at the end, but this was Andrew's game from the start.
