>Jack_Overby: AAELNOR -AO +0 0
#note Best. No way am I playing long for <15 points.
>Thomas_Reinke: AEKMNU 8H UNMAKE +34 34
>Jack_Overby: AELNORV N6 VERONAL +83 83
#note I was fairly confident in this hook...
>Thomas_Reinke: FIQR - +0 34
#note ...while Thomas was not! Big break here, and the V at least partially blocks O8.
>Jack_Overby: AAEGMPR M7 M.GA +26 109
#note No E for AMPERAGE. I spent 5 or so minutes agonizing over RAMPAGE/GUNMAKER. Amazingly, the night before, Jason Vaysberg and I had reviewed the 8's ending in -MAKER (all 14 of them), and I didn't recall GUNMAKER making the list. Thomas said he very well might have let it go, so it might have been worth a shot, but good to know I didn't chicken out on a bingo.

Q prefer playing on column O (GAPER/GAMER/MARGE), which seems wise, to minimize the O8 hotspot.
>Thomas_Reinke: FIQR K7 F.QIR +34 68
#note Gotta say, I wouldn't have minded that R on the previous turn..
>Jack_Overby: AENPRTY J10 PARTY +36 145
#note Yes, I wussed out on PANTY. King of the Fives!
>Thomas_Reinke: OST O8 SOT +58 126
#note Rat farts!
>Jack_Overby: ?DEINNS H8 .NqINSED +77 222
>Jack_Overby: ?DEINNS -- -77 145
#note I announced 'R' and circled the 'R' on the blank sheet. Charles looks over, says hold, followed by 'Sorry'. Turns out I missed the R. Ouch. My second lowest moment of the tournament.
>Thomas_Reinke: AEGJL 13H JE.LAG +30 156
>Jack_Overby: ?DEINNS H12 D.IN +42 187
#note A mild blunder by Thomas, giving me the J, as he realized even at the time. This is much better than both H13 JIN and all the toothless 9B bingos.
>Thomas_Reinke: BEEIRSU L11 BE.U +17 173
#note Curious play.
>Jack_Overby: ?EEENSV 15L SEEN +23 210
#note I saw EVENErS/EVENESt/etc., but inferring an X, I moved swiftly to block the spot. As it turned out, he kept EIRS. Nice fake setup, Thomas! SEEN sims well regardless.
>Thomas_Reinke: AEEIRST 9C SERIATE +65 238
>Jack_Overby: ?EEFIOV E5 OVEr.IFE +102 312
#note Second time with the blank R was the charm. I circled it approximately fifty times on the sheet, for clarity.
>Thomas_Reinke: BELW D12 BLEW +34 272
>Jack_Overby: DDDOORT 10B OOT.D +23 335
#note Best by far. Glad to see this spot.
>Thomas_Reinke: CHZ 14B CH.Z +36 308
>Jack_Overby: ACDDPRT 7C PR.ACT +19 354
#note Best- scores well, blocks the V, yadda yadda.
>Thomas_Reinke: AHSWY D1 WASHY +41 349
#note Uh-oh, we're darn near tied...
>Jack_Overby: DDILOOX E1 OXO +26 380
#note Not a great play. Oddly enough, C1 OLIO 24, which I recall briefly considering, sims best by far (72% vs 63% for OXO). I suppose it blocks just as well as OXO, while retaining the X for scoring. Makes sense.
>Thomas_Reinke: GIIN 5D ..GINI +10 359
#note Good job by Thomas to make a lane while leaving one in the bag, unloading ugly tiles in the process.
>Jack_Overby: DDILRTU 4I TURD +12 392
#note Unfortunately for him, the pool is rubbish, and I have an easy block. One of three plays that wins 100%, the other two being 4G LITU and 4I LURID. LURID produces better spread, as it virtually assures me an outplay. Still, good enough!
>Thomas_Reinke: ?AEIIOU F1 OE +22 381
#note Two off of L6 AUK 16.
>Jack_Overby: DILN 11A DIN +9 401
#note Four off of J6 DIM 15. I had over a minute left, so no excuses.
>Thomas_Reinke: ?AIIU N6 .......s +24 405
#note Best.
>Jack_Overby: L 2D ...L +11 412
#note Also best! I sure am good at playing my last tile.
>Jack_Overby: (AIIU) +8 420
#note Happy 420, Thomas. Glad I was able to qinse myself of my designation mishap!
