#player2 Noella_Ward Noella Ward
>Matthew_Larocque: ?DGKRTV -DGKV +0 0
#note Context: I decided to attend the tournament last minute. I still had to work on Friday however, which meant I had to jump on a bus overnight to arrive in Calgary the morning of. I get there about 6:40 am, get to the south side, and eat a quick A&W breakfast and buy a large coffee from Starbucks. No sleep, no preparation, no expectations. I then proceed to have THIS game.
>Noella_Ward: UUVV -UUVV +0 0
>Matthew_Larocque: ?AHJPRT 8G HAJ +26 26
#note Another note: Prior to this tournament, I had played 6 casual games with my regular scrabble buddy. In those 6 games, I drew ZERO blanks. I don't know what the odds of that are, but they must be insanely low.

It was like an intangible factor in me deciding to go, that the luck factor might even itself out at a very opportune time.
>Noella_Ward: ABRW 9E BRAW +21 21
>Matthew_Larocque: ?ADOPRT E6 PRO.ATeD +74 100
#note I saw PAROTID, but I thought that it needed double Rs, because I thought that the definition was something about resembling a parrot. :/
>Noella_Ward: ADEFNST 12A FAST.NED +84 105
>Matthew_Larocque: EIINOOV A12 .IVE +30 130
#note ENVOI/HAJI is probably better, but I sometimes miss ENVOI and only see OVINE.
>Noella_Ward: QU B10 QU. +32 137
>Matthew_Larocque: EGINOOV F2 VOGIE +25 155
#note (D)OVE to keep ING synergy, which is perfect with HAJ on the board.
>Noella_Ward: ALLMW 3B MALL.W +30 167
>Matthew_Larocque: AEGHNOX 13G HEXAGON +122 277
#note The turning point. Patience is my greatest virtue, and also my greatest detriment. It's very easy to automatically play something like (D)EX, because so often it's the obvious and clear best play. It's also a reminder to myself to shuffle that rack! It pays off every so often.
>Noella_Ward: EILUY D1 YU.E +22 189
#note She played YI(L)L first, then YU(L)E, so she had 12L YULE for 28. I mean I can understand keeping the board open, but I'm very likely to play in that area next turn.
>Matthew_Larocque: AAKLSUY 12J KAY +39 316
#note Wow, there's a ridiculous bingo here for over 100 points. I can't even find the easist Y bingos, it's my bingo-finding kryptonite.
>Noella_Ward: EFIL 14H LIFE +50 239
#note Nice.
>Matthew_Larocque: ACELRSU N9 RECUSAL +91 407
#note Couldn't ask for a better draw to a leave of ALSU.
>Noella_Ward: DOST - +0 239
>Matthew_Larocque: CEEINRT O4 ENTICER +84 491
#note I think it was here that Noella conceded that I was getting a 600 game. In my mind, I was thinking she just jinxed it, and I was going to fizzle out.
>Noella_Ward: DOST 15F DOTS +40 279
>Matthew_Larocque: AEGUZ 10G GAUZE +48 539
#note Missed this rack.
>Noella_Ward: IIII -IIII +0 279
>Matthew_Larocque: ?EEMNNR C2 M.NE +12 551
#note I think this was my rack. I had double Ns, double Es, the blank, and probably an R. If so, MANNERED, REMANENT, and REINSMEN play. Should play MEN(U) here at least.
>Noella_Ward: BDO 15L BO.D +30 309
>Matthew_Larocque: ?EINORS L4 dINEROS +80 631
#note Geez. Underscored as 78.
>Noella_Ward: IOP J6 POI +25 334
>Matthew_Larocque: INRT C9 TIN. +18 649
#note Missed the spot to play out.
>Noella_Ward: IIOT K5 OI +13 347
>Matthew_Larocque: R 7L .R +3 652
#note (PE)R.
>Matthew_Larocque: (IT) +4 656
