>Andrew: AGJU 8G JUGA +24 24
>Joshua_: DEHOOSY 9H HOY +24 24
#note This was by far the best game at club last night. HOY and OHO seemed really close (they sim within .1 of each other), but HOY did much better things for my S and for the board as a whole. Now he has to have an L and an A to score very well and not give my S a nice home. If he hooks AJUGA I get my S hook, and I'm restricting JUGAL plays a whole lot.
>Andrew: BEE 10I BEE +21 45
>Joshua_: DEIORST L9 STEROID +76 100
#note plan: close down the board ASAP

how?

hook A(JUGA) going downwards

hook A(STEROID) to 8O

play down from N6 or overlap 8L-8O

clog up rest of the bottom of the board

>Andrew: ?DGMOPU 14G UPDOM.nG +80 125
#note would he have seen GUMDROP if I had played EDITORS?
>Joshua_: AIILSUV F6 VIA +27 127
#note After missing VISA/UPDOMINGS this turn, I tried to convince myself that this wasn't a big mistake. Still, this was a decently-sized error if it weren't for the fact that I'm beginning to try and seize control of the board.

I'm almost convinced at this point that VIA is fine for 20 less than VISA
>Andrew: AELNP 15D PLANE +44 169
>Joshua_: EIILRSU 15L .UI +8 135
#note now I'm sort of protecting UPDOMINGS for next turn. He could have an S but playing DUI forces him to have ST or a bingo to utilize the scoring spot. This is also my best equity and best fish, hitting almost 2/3
>Andrew: BN 11K N.B +14 183
>Joshua_: EILQRSW 7E Q. +11 146
#note this is bad, I barely hit 1/4 now. I've gone from 2/3 to 1/4 -25 points within one turn. In other words QW was a bad draw. QI M8 is better because it scores more and hits a similar amount of bingos, but not as much better as Quackle thinks. Andrew will not overlap on column N giving me huge counterplay on column O. However I should also just exchange QW before playing QI
>Andrew: AINY 8L AYIN +34 217
>Joshua_: EILRSSW 11C SWILERS +77 223
#note damn, he blocked the two best spots in one go. Oh wait, this is part of my plan to control the board. Good.
>Andrew: EMORV 13C MOVER +26 243
#note Andrew talked himself out of a CSW-only bingo here. Smart! He also talked himself out of challenging SWILERS which is new in TWL.
>Joshua_: EFIKLNT N3 FLINK.TE +69 292
#note lucky to have learned this recently
>Andrew: ACEGRST - +0 243
#note but 2nd unfamiliar word in a row is too much for Andrew, who challenges. If he had seen his bingos and bingo scores before challenging, that may have changed things.
>Joshua_: ADIIOOT 10C IOTA +19 311
#note 12J AD(R)OIT is perhaps smarter here, since now I sort of need to defend against two scoring plays/one bingo and one scoring play, so taking out column O and UPDOMINGS is important.
>Andrew: ACEGRST 5H AGREST.C +72 315
>Joshua_: ADINORX H1 DIOX.N +66 377
>Andrew: CDEO 4D CODE. +30 345
>Joshua_: AAELORR 9B OAR +14 391
#note suddenly I'm not in such good shape. He could have ZEST at O12, HEST, WHIST, FAST and I can't defend against those or any of the scores of bingos he could have elsewhere. It seemed like there was a small chance I could outrun a bingo however if I played something like A(N)OLE O7, (R)OAR 12L perhaps, so I considered those for a few minutes. Then I wondered if I should be aggressive and try to outrun one or the other, and I settled on this play. It complicates things a whole lot if it does nothing better than that, but I think it makes sense. REA(T)A M2 is the best score here, and I missed it. 24 points here is pretty great, brings me up 56 which gives me the best shot at outrunning the more minor bad case scenarios. Either way, he can fish pretty successfully after A(N)OLE or (R)OAR, so not only am I probably losing probably 10% of the time right off the bat, I might be losing an extra 25% of the time when he fishes on row 9.
>Andrew: ?AEFINT A3 FAINTEr +83 428
#note unfortunately my plan backfires here! However, Andrew was unsure of FAINEsT being TWL. Luckily for me, I had struck gold on my end and it didn't matter.
>Joshua_: AEEHLRZ L1 ZEAL. +48 439
#note -3 to playing HER B2 first and -1 to playing H(O)ER 3G first, which blocks W(O)T. HER sets up LEZ for 59 if he blocks ZEAL(S)
>Andrew: TUW 3G W.T +20 448
>Joshua_: EHR B2 HER +19 458
>Joshua_: (U) +2 460
