#player2 Jackson_Smylie Jackson Smylie
>Bryn_Bowen: DIIIOPU -DIIOPUI +0 0
#note Pretty much a toss up between exchanging seven vs. keeping DI (sims slightly better) or D (sims best). On an opening exchange, I prefer to increase my chances of drawing an S/? or E.
>Jackson_Smylie: ENTTY H8 NETTY +24 24
>Bryn_Bowen: AINOOQR 10F QA. +32 32
#note Didn't consider any other play here. Sims best.
>Jackson_Smylie: CINZ 12D ZINC. +38 62
>Bryn_Bowen: HILNOOR I8 OH +20 52
#note My first thought-provoking rack of the game. OH loses a sim slightly to OOH I7; think I kept the second O since I tend to overvalue the synergy of OR. O's are bad.
>Jackson_Smylie: BCEP E11 B.CEP +22 84
>Bryn_Bowen: AILNORR 15E .RION +21 73
#note -1.9 to PROLAN 15E. Pretty debatable as to what to do here, although playing through the P is clear. Need to bingo soon so I prefer keeping the A.
>Jackson_Smylie: AKT J6 KAT +20 104
>Bryn_Bowen: AELPRRU 13B PLA.E +31 104
#note My first real mistake of the game. UPREAR 14I is risky, but scores just as well and yields a vastly better leave. PLACE 13B is a perfect example of playing scared against a top opponent - take an easy 30 points, and ask the bag to bail you out of a bad rack. URARE K4 is propably what I would have done had I considered it; it opens up a vowel lane for eights, and plays involving the K4 square tend to give scoring opportunities back.
>Jackson_Smylie: AISSSTX 14H SAXISTS +114 218
#note Ouch.
>Bryn_Bowen: ADGMRRU K4 GRAM +24 128
#note Sims just behind DRUGS(S) L10. I'll take the extra ten points.
>Jackson_Smylie: IINRV 4H VIR.IN +28 246
>Bryn_Bowen: BDEEORU H1 ERU. +21 149
#note The Duck doesn't hate this play, but certainly prefers other options like BEDU 3L and BURPEE B10. Considering I'm about 2.5 bingos behind, I need to open up the A1 quadrant. BEDU doesn't do that, and just lets Jackson score from O1. I would never play it. BURPEE is similarly problematic. I'm mostly playing for board shape here, and wish I had seen OEUVRE H1. It does everying ERUV does, while also opening two awesome eight lanes at A5/A6.
>Jackson_Smylie: ITUW M3 U.WIT +18 264
>Bryn_Bowen: ABDEELO N7 ALBEDOE. +65 214
#note Slapped this down prety quickly, giddy at the fact I could finally bingo. Didn't see LEEBOARD 2B, although I think I actually like ALBEDOES more. 11 points is a lot to sacrifice, but the only way I win is drawing (hopefully high-scoring) bingos at this point. ALBEDOES opens another lane, and at this point I basically just have to hope that he can't really hurt me with any play from O4. This is firewagon Scrabble, which I love. Maybe I should start playing Collins.
>Jackson_Smylie: GJU L11 JUG. +24 288
#note Fortunate that he plays in a dead part of the board, I wonder if JUG at O5 is better? I suppose I sort've run the risk of outrunning him since we're only halfway through the game, and he can't just run around closing down lanes for minimal points. I'm sure what he did was right because, well, he's Jackson.
>Bryn_Bowen: ENNOOTV 2A NONVOTE. +76 290
#note That was nice.
>Jackson_Smylie: FG 3G F.G +27 315
>Bryn_Bowen: ?ADEFLW A1 u.FLAWED +185 475
#note That was even nicer.
>Jackson_Smylie: ?DEORSU - +0 315
#note Understandable challenge, probably his only chance to win (as it stands, he has many triple triples here himself). I wasn't even 100% on UNFLAWED. It was one of those "I assume this is a word" instead of "I know this is a word because I Zyzzyva'd it last week". I've been burned on plays like this many times before.
>Bryn_Bowen: ADEHIIO O7 DIE +26 501
#note OIDIA O5 way better.
>Jackson_Smylie: ?DEORSU D1 O.ERsUDS +76 391
>Bryn_Bowen: AAHIOOY B7 HOYA +20 521
#note Sims best.
>Jackson_Smylie: EEILMR 3A .RE. +20 411
>Bryn_Bowen: AIO 14B OI +14 535
#note Best.
>Jackson_Smylie: EILM 6C M.LIE +9 420
>Jackson_Smylie: (A) +2 422
