#player2 Matt_DeWaelsche Matt DeWaelsche
>Jim_Burlant: AAAEGHV 8D AGAVE +20 20
#note Hmmm. A bit of a strange sim result. For some reason the 8F placement topped the sim for almost 700 - 800 iterations before things settled down. Eventually this choice simmed best.
>Matt_DeWaelsche: DEWY E5 WED.Y +26 26
>Jim_Burlant: ABCHNUV 7H HUB +14 34
#note Here we go again. Just like the first time I played Matt: I unload a V on my opening rack and out of a full bag of tiles get UV with no UV dump available. I couldn't think of NUCHA, and I didn't want to give back an S hook down the A column with HAVEN 6B, which Quackle really likes too. I had no idea what to do here and put this down to unload two of my 3 most negative tiles since the U absolutely had to go, given how many of them I was drawing this tournament. Best is apparently VAN D4, and this is midpack.
>Matt_DeWaelsche: EH F5 EH +31 57
>Jim_Burlant: ACNOSTV D2 NOVA +20 54
#note Another head scratcher. Annoyed that HUB had blocked a CENTAVOS air ball, I considered VAT G3 and this. The shock is that this is actually a good play, since I really felt like I had no idea what I was doing here. Surely I can draw a few vowels, right?
>Matt_DeWaelsche: ?EIILNO K2 LIONIsE +70 127
>Jim_Burlant: CENSTTU 2B CU.T +12 66
#note Watching him fish EH for 31 and hitting yet another top-750 7 while I drew yet ANOTHER U, I lost composure and never saw STONECUT 3B for 78. With STONECUT I would still be in the game. This sucks.
>Matt_DeWaelsche: CDEU 2J C.UED +28 155
>Jim_Burlant: EMNRSTU L8 MUNSTER +81 147
#note Back in the game, but not for long:
>Matt_DeWaelsche: ?EILMST 11E TIMeLES. +86 241
>Jim_Burlant: AAAEEII -AAAEII +0 147
#note Yes, that's my actual rack. Do you need any other examples of how this tournament was going?
>Matt_DeWaelsche: KLO 4I LO.K +16 257
>Jim_Burlant: EFGNOOT 14J FO.GO +34 181
#note Forking the board. Truth be told there are better plays available that I never saw, most notably GONEF 10Ffor 48. But I liked that this created opportunities - maybe he wouldn't be able to defend?
>Matt_DeWaelsche: OOX 15M OXO +42 299
#note Yeah, right.
>Jim_Burlant: EINNOTW H10 N.WTON +36 217
#note Frustration with drawing yet another W. Better would have been 1M WON for 26.
