>Jim_Burlant: ORRTWXY 8D WORRY +30 30
#note Two ways I could go with this: ORYX 8F or WORRY. Given the troubles I had experienced in previous games where I couldn't hold any of the bingo prone consonants I did draw, ORYX was tempting. But keeping the W was a non-starter because I was a U magnet this tournament and the last thing I wanted was to deal with UW yet again. A sim takes a while to sort out (8H WORRY also sims well), but this is best.
>Paul_Holser: GKLNSS E6 KL.NGS +22 22
#note Second S is inferred; he appears to be overloaded with consonants.
>Jim_Burlant: AHILRTX H7 H.RAX +18 48
#note Not sure why I whiffed on 9X AXIL, but I was fixated on unloading all the counters, and this was the only thing I saw that did that. Fortunately it's not a major miss; a sim confirms it's just slightly more mediocre than my best option, which is apparently to play at 10B with ALIGHT or ARIGHT and hopefully draw into an X play. Given how this tournament had gone I wasn't going to try that.
>Paul_Holser: FLNOSST -4 +0 22
>Jim_Burlant: DEILMRT I10 MILD +22 70
#note Only question here is which I10 play to make? MID? MIL? Both of them give back way too many easy hooks. Normally I'd want to keep DERT together, but ERT is plenty strong and MILD isn't the defensive liability that MIL is, so MILD it is. This is best.
>Paul_Holser: EEFSSU 13I .EFUSE +20 42
>Jim_Burlant: ?AEOQRT O7 EQuATOR +109 179
#note Other options are L8 pAROQUET abnd M6 EQUATORs. This is best.
>Paul_Holser: BGR L12 B.RG +18 60
>Jim_Burlant: AADILNP N1 PALADIN +76 255
#note Luck box again!
>Paul_Holser: DEMW N10 MEW.D +51 111
>Jim_Burlant: ABCGNOT O1 AGON +38 293
#note The goal here: defuse the 3x3. The rack building can wait.
>Paul_Holser: AO K11 OA. +16 127
>Jim_Burlant: BCHINTT 15H THIN. +27 320
#note Or CHING in the same location. I knew CHINGS was good but couldn't remember for sure if that was a sticky S, so I took no chances. CHING is much better defensively since it leaves nothing open on row 14.
>Paul_Holser: DEELOY 5H YODELE. +24 151
>Jim_Burlant: BCINPTZ H1 ZINC. +66 386
#note This is ridiculous.
>Paul_Holser: JO M9 JO +22 173
>Jim_Burlant: ABCEPTU 6B BUC. +18 404
#note About the only thing I did "wrong" this game was draw 5 tiles after ZINCY when I needed to draw 4, and I lost the blank on the overdraw. Whoops. Best looks to be 6B BACKUP. Regardless, the only loss is equity now. The sim has crossed over from 99.9xx% winning chances to 100%.
