>Matt_DeWaelsche: AHRSTY H8 TRASHY +32 32
>Jim_Burlant: ADIINOV 11C AVION. +18 18
#note Nothing really great here. I considered a a bunch of plays (VOIDS, AVOIDS, AVIONS() on row 11 as well as AVION G6. After rejecting AVION G6 due to board position, I somehow forgot about AVOIDS when I revisited row 11. I agree with a sim that AVOIDS in this spot is unquestionably better than AVIONS, but the duck says I'm just supposed to fish with VIA 10F. Seriously? Regardless, I sure wish I had played at G6:
>Matt_DeWaelsche: ?EIMOOT 9H .EMOTIOn +61 93
#note If I play at G6, does he find sMOOTHIE on row 12? His best bingo is the impressive HOMEOTIC 12H for 74.
>Jim_Burlant: DDIRSUV O8 U.DID +24 42
#note Unreal. I was just shaking my head as I watched him play his S for 32 on the open and follow that up with a 6-tile draw into EIMOOT? while I unloaded a V and drew UV out of a full bag. As for this position, it's either this or the slick 10F DUAD. Just shy of 21% to win.
>Matt_DeWaelsche: AEEOPRT G2 OPERATE +65 158
#note L3/L4 OPERETTA 72.
>Jim_Burlant: ?EIORSV 5E SE.VItOR +90 132
#note Or OVERSTIR 5D.
>Matt_DeWaelsche: BN F4 N.B +23 181
>Jim_Burlant: AEFMOQT 4I QAT +26 158
#note I'd have thought this play would be a no-brainer, but if the duck is to be believed, I should either play L1 FEMORA or F8 MOFO. Really? Duck notwithstanding, I'm fine with this. At thist point I still felt like I was in the game and I wasn't panicking. Matt hadn't found his best bingoes, I seemed to have ground through the worst of the garbage, and the routine clunk was now scoring decently. But I was going to need some help from the tile bag.
>Matt_DeWaelsche: EGLO D8 GLO.E +22 203
>Jim_Burlant: EFIKMOZ F10 Z.OM +35 193
#note If an equity slip can cost you the game, this turn was an example. This was the wrong execution of the right idea. 10C ZOOM, which I never saw, scores 44 and would have prevented his next play:
>Matt_DeWaelsche: CHNOS 14B CHONS +42 245
>Jim_Burlant: EFFIKUU B12 FU.K +13 206
#note What an awful draw! I was just stunned by this draw and didn't see much of anything. I considered TUFF L9, but thought it had the potential to shut everything down. I put this down because it unloaded the UF and it opened up the A column so the board woudln't shute down. The duck says I had the right idea, but that FUCI was the ticket. Maybe so, but can you think of a more appropriate response to this rack (especially how my tournament has gone to this point) than this word? 16% to win.
>Matt_DeWaelsche: CEINY A8 YINCE +39 284
>Jim_Burlant: EEFIUUW 15A U.E +26 232
#note I unload the U and not only draw another one right back, but I get the W to go with it? Give me a break! Sid Murrali was sitting next to me at the next board, and when he saw my reaction, he was suppressing some serious guffaws. I almost exchanged here but couldn't see how I could turn down 26, given that the game wasn't totally out of hand. Quackle wants me to play 10K WIFED for 30 or exchange. Not that EFIUW is a gift, but I don't see how keeping EUU will help me get anywhere. 3% to win.
>Matt_DeWaelsche: ADER 12H .EARD +18 302
#note Obviiously, that's where the bingo prone consonants are going. I'm sure not seeing many of those.
>Jim_Burlant: AAEFIUW H1 AWA +27 259
#note Best, but this is bleak - 6% to win.
>Matt_DeWaelsche: BDEL B6 BLED +21 323
>Jim_Burlant: EFILPTU C3 PFUI +22 281
#note Apparently I should fish with F1 UP. I'm guessing it thinks I'll draw IN for ANTILIFE.
>Matt_DeWaelsche: AW F1 AW +30 353
>Jim_Burlant: EIJLNST J11 J.IL +13 294
#note Or L12 DJIN. The consolation: nothing I did here would have mattered.
>Matt_DeWaelsche: AEGIINT 14I E.ATING +16 369
>Jim_Burlant: EGLNSTX 15G LEX +39 333
#note M5 SEXTING loses by 3 less. Whatever.
>Matt_DeWaelsche: EIRR 3A RI.ER +7 376
>Matt_DeWaelsche: (GNST) +10 386
#note Not much I could do about this. This was awful, and I was glad I was able to minimize the damage.
