Player 1
#player1 Tim_Weiss Tim Weiss
#player2 Jesse_Day Jesse Day
>Tim_Weiss: ACCGGRY 8G CRAGGY +34 34
#note Tim: Didn't think about the possibility of this taking an S until later
>Jesse_Day: AEEOQTV I7 Q.T +23 23
#note JD: static would have me play VEGO, but I should take the opportunity to shed the Q here with no immediate subsequent chance in sight.
>Tim_Weiss: ?CEFFLO 10C COFFLEs +84 118
>Jesse_Day: AEEEOOV C10 .OOEE +14 37
#note Jesse: I feared the responses to FOVEAE too much - down 100 already, need to roll the dice here
>Tim_Weiss: DIMNRTV 15A VID +30 148
#note Tim: Or VOMIT D9
>Jesse_Day: AEEOORV E10 .OVEA +22 59
#note JD: need all the bingo line hooks I can get if I'm going to come back. it may even be worth exchanging to try to draw a hook for SCRAGGY, although I had no idea if it was good.
>Tim_Weiss: EEGMNRT 13E .MERGENT +64 212
#note Tim: Played this thinking it took an S, but then Jesse held, which threw me off and made me question everything I thought I knew about this word
>Jesse_Day: AEEKORW 12J WEEK +33 92
#note Jesse: I sacrificed a valuable E in order to create an S hook I could use down the road (WEAK doesn't take S). 2% to win. I do already have one -S lane I can try on column F, but I'm going to need multiple bingos to win, so I think this is a fair sacrifice.
>Tim_Weiss: ADLPUUY 15E LAYUP +42 254
#note Tim: Also DELAY for 55
>Jesse_Day: ADHORST B13 HO. +21 113
#note Jesse: the cost of playing WEAK last turn is that I don't get to try DEHORTS/SCRAGGY this turn. I still think that's an OK price for not closing the bottom-right quadrant. Here I didn't know EMERGENTS, else HORKS/EMERGENTS is probably too many points to pass up. but I'm down so many points that setting up a couple of potentially lucrative dominos doesn't hurt too much.
>Tim_Weiss: BDISSUU 14I UDS +28 282
#note Tim: BUIKS for 52, but now unsure of the S hook and didn't want to take the risk with a lead
>Jesse_Day: ADINRST A7 INDARTS +83 196
>Tim_Weiss: ABEIMSU 11J AB +28 310
#note Tim: Whiffed on MAUBIES
>Jesse_Day: LNOPRTZ L4 ZLOT. +34 230
>Tim_Weiss: AEIMRSU N6 UREMIAS +75 385
#note Tim: Forgot MAUSIER. Didn't want to risk SCRAGGY.
>Jesse_Day: ADENPRW O2 PRAWNED +105 335
>Tim_Weiss: BHINNOX D7 INB.X +25 410
#note Tim: Would've played HONK M9 if I'd seen it
>Jesse_Day: AEEIJST J6 JI. +38 373
#note Jesse: I was trying to protract the game as long as possible and play fast to put Tim under pressure. Quackle digs up a play that might be superior - EEJITS at B2, digging into the bag to draw the blank, and leaving the board in a configuration where Tim cannot productively block all the lanes. The downside is that the pool is really poor, and even if I draw the blank I may not be able to bingo. After JIG, Tim might be able to block everything by playing at 7C, but it would be for almost no points and he'd be vulnerable to me trying an EMERGENTS play and outrunning him. I think I prefer the slow-play.
>Tim_Weiss: HLNNOOR N1 HOON +26 436
>Jesse_Day: AEEISTT 4J TI. +12 385
#note Jesse: Had a couple of minutes to find this - Tim can no longer block across on row 7, and it scores enough that my bingo might outrun him (although I lose to KSAR/EMERGENTS if he has it). I'm 10/36 to win - either draw the blank, or draw LR or NR. The question is whether fishing one tile is more likely to work. fishing an E leaves me with a 4/9 chance of drawing a bingo, but if he either has the blank or the letters for LIRI, he can block up all of the lanes by playing across at 7C - so less than a 2/9 chance, making TIZ the play. Tim's last play also hints at an I being in the bag (if he had multiple Is he would've probably found a way to play it off).
>Tim_Weiss: AIILNRU C2 URINAL +17 453
#note wild finish - nothing he can do
>Jesse_Day: ?AEEIST 2A Eq.ISETA +68 453
#note didn't need to try SCRAGGY
>Jesse_Day: (I) +2 455
