#player1 Janet_Gray Janet Gray
#player2 Jason_Idalski Jason Idalski
>Janet_Gray: DUW 8G WUD +14 14
>Jason_Idalski: AABEEKO I3 BEAKE. +17 17
#note A(W)OKE seems to be the star play here. Played this way too quickly and should have looked harder. Did not know (D)EBEAK.
>Janet_Gray: JOT J2 JOT +32 46
>Jason_Idalski: AGIOOWY 6F GOO.Y +25 42
#note Or YOGA (K1) or YAGI (K3). Debated between GOOKY and YOGA for a long time. YOGA set up (Y)OWIE with an E draw, but an xxAW play at H1 isn't impossible after this.
>Janet_Gray: OVX K1 VOX +34 80
>Jason_Idalski: AHINNWY L3 YAWN +36 78
#note Another case of lack of focus. WYN at L2 is clearly best.
>Janet_Gray: GIOR 1K .IGOR +30 110
>Jason_Idalski: AAEHHIN 5E HAH +26 104
>Janet_Gray: EEFR 4C REEF +26 136
>Jason_Idalski: AEINRTU 9A RUINATE +65 169
#note Every placement leaves lots to be desired. But URANITE at M6 in probably the best one.
>Janet_Gray: ADEEILT A2 DETAILE. +80 216
#note Of course, I say that knowing that TAURINE here or URANITE in column M would have stopped this.
>Jason_Idalski: CEIIOQS 8C QI +26 195
>Janet_Gray: ANRT 10G TARN +12 228
#note (QI)NTAR would have been problematic for me.
>Jason_Idalski: ACDEIOS 11A CODEIAS +77 272
#note Thought I had weathered the early storm and was in control now.
>Janet_Gray: NN 6A .NN +5 233
#note And then this happens and I start to unravel a bit.
>Jason_Idalski: AAEFGMU M4 GEUM +20 292
#note I still have no idea what to do here. But with ??SSS unseen, I thought digging, regardless of leave, was a priority. In that vein, I like sim's pick of (D)AMAGE; plays five, can't be hit with all A's gone, blocks a bingo lane. In hindsight I overvalued Janet's leave/rack before INN and just assumed the bingo was coming down and was powerless to stop it. Without rack inference, GEUM doesn't look awful, though. Just no great options here.
>Janet_Gray: ?EPPRST N6 TiPPERS +72 305
#note Gave her orphan a home. *sigh*
>Jason_Idalski: AACFMNU M10 FAUN +23 315
#note Seems best.
>Janet_Gray: BEILZ O11 BEZIL +60 365
#note Although after giving her bingo a home, I'm now giving her a 60-point Z play.
>Jason_Idalski: ?ACDLMO O7 MO +30 345
#note Between my pulling the blank post FAUN and her BEZIL, I thought I had the game again. Sim's pick of MOLD at L2 seems strange to me ... emptying on the number? Very counterintuitive. I think this play is OK. Threatens the bingo while remaining within hailing distance if her rack isn't good.
>Janet_Gray: IOV 15L VIO. +11 376
#note Blocking my FAUN hook. Pretty sure S and another tile were in the bag. Frustratingly she put down VOIL*, announced 11, and was about to hit her clock before realizing her mistake.
>Jason_Idalski: ?ACDELL A11 .ECAL +30 375
#note Best. And I thought this was enough. I didn't see anything better than STIRS/(TARN)S for 15, which loses by one after my oLD at 12C. (C)RITS is 14 and blocks my best out, but loses by two after I play LeD for 13 at B1.
>Janet_Gray: IIRSST 13A .RISIS +16 392
#note And then Janet finds what CP says is her only win. Thought I'd escaped, but alas.
>Jason_Idalski: ?DL B1 LeD +13 388
#note L(IN)D(E)n(S) cuts the margin to one. Too many small mistakes and too much bad timing. This just in: It's really hard to go 13-0.
>Jason_Idalski: (T) +2 390
